Abstract:
A pulse tube system especially useful for producing and delivering refrigeration at very cold temperatures wherein a product fluid such as hydrogen is preferably precooled and then liquefied, subcooled and/or densified by heat exchange with ultra cold gas generated by a pulsing compression wave which rejects heat into a cryogen fluid heat sink.

Abstract:
A system for generating low temperature refrigeration for use such as cooling superconducting cable wherein a neon based refrigerant fluid is work expanded by a sealed turboexpander/loader to generate refrigeration which is used to cool heat transfer fluid for provision to the use point.
Methods For Operating A Pulse Tube Cryocooler System With Mean Pressure Variations
A method for operating a pulse tube cryocooler system wherein in the event the mean pressure of the working gas within the fixed volume of the cryocooler undergoes a change, the operation of the system is kept from severe degradation by changing the frequency of the pressure wave generator driving the cryocooler directly with the change in the mean pressure.

A superconducting cable cooling system, wherein coolant continually provides cooling to superconducting cable, comprising a plurality of nodes within a superconducting cable network and a plurality of legs of superconducting cable which interconnect each of the nodes of the superconducting cable network.

Abstract:
A system for providing cooling to cable such as superconducting cable which employs at least one cryocooling station or consolidated cryocooler/pumping station which processes coolant involving multiple cable lengths.

Abstract:
A cryogenic tank system wherein cryogenic liquid from a primary cryogenic liquid storage tank is subcooled by refrigeration generated by a cryocooler, passed into an auxiliary tank, pressurized, and returned to the primary storage tank, preferably by way of the cryocooler, thus cooling the storage tank contents and reducing the pressure within and the vapor losses from the storage tank.

Abstract:
A system for liquefying low boiling point gases wherein a mixture of feed gas and recirculating refrigerant gas is compressed, a first portion turboexpanded, a second portion compressed to a supercritical pressure, and the supercritical fluid cooled against the turboexpanded fluid to produce cryogenic liquid.
Cryogenic Rectification System For Producing Argon And Lower Purity Oxygen

Assignee:
Praxair Technology, Inc. - Danbury CT
International Classification:
F25J 302
US Classification:
62646
Abstract:
A cryogenic rectification system wherein additional stripping vapor for the lower pressure column of a double column is produced from higher pressure column bottoms and feed for the argon column is taken from the upper portion of the lower pressure column and first processed through a stripping column. Lower purity oxygen is recovered either directly from the lower pressure column or after first being processed in an auxiliary column which additionally produces higher purity oxygen.
