Originally trained as a Paralegal with the Paralegal Institute in 1979. Went on to work in medical field where I was sent to school at night for medical terminology, I worked in two medical practices, including a Gastrointestinal medical practice in Washington. Have also worked at George Washington University as a medical secretary/assistant with a physician in the Oncology Department in 1/1986 - 9/1986 in which I worked as a Senior Medical Secretary and Assistant. Responsibilities included: coordinated all patient appointments including surgeries for the Oncology Department. Prepared patient billing on a monthly basis. Assisted patients in resolving insurance coverage issues. Performed research for informational inquiries for the Oncology Medical Department. After this I switched into the Legal Field and worked for a number of years as a Legal Secretary as well.
