Abstract:

A nestable crate for bottles having an upright retainer wall surrounding a horizontally disposed floor. The retainer wall has an upper portion, a lower portion, a vertically disposed interior surface and an exterior surface. A plurality of tangency pads are integrally formed in the upper portion of the retainer wall of its interior surface. A nesting window is formed in the interior surface of the retainer wall below each tangency pad. The crate accommodates both single bottles placed in the crate separated as well as bottle-filled cartons.

Abstract:

A system and method for removing particulate matter from an object being machined or having been machined. A vacuum tube is connected to a source of vacuum and has an intake end adapted to be placed in close proximity to the object being machined. In one embodiment the intake end has a slot such that the intake end can at least partially surround a machining tool. In another embodiment the intake end has standoff buttons that are placed against the object. The vacuum tube can have an inlet cone with a bellmouth shape. Ionized gas is directed at the area proximate the inlet cone and/or machining tool. A vibrator can also be used to vibrate the object.

Abstract:

A unit dose chlorhexadine gluconate (CHG) applicator is disclosed wherein a unit dose of the CHG is contained in a hermetically sealed manually crushable glass ampule that has an internal volume not significantly greater than the unit dose volume of the CHG. The CHG in the ampule has an effective shelf life of at least 24 months. The glass ampule of the applicator is preferably protected by a flexible cover to protect the user's hand during manual crushing of the ampule to release the CHG therefrom. In one embodiment of the invention, a cylindrical glass ampule is housed within a tubular, flexible synthetic resin cover which has a porous applicator swab at one end thereof. Upon crushing of the glass ampule, the CHG released therefrom impregnates the swab allowing the user to spread the CHG across an area to be sanitized. In a second embodiment of the invention, a cylindrical glass ampule is received within a semi-cylindrical, open-sided body cover having a flange portion that mounts a sponge-like swab communicating with the interior of the body cover. Opposed integral wing-like gripping members on the ampule permit the user to crush the ampule by squeezing the members toward one another whereupon the CHG is released from the ampule and impregnates the sponge swab.

Abstract:

A full-depth nestable crate includes a plurality of columns, projections and channels disposed along exterior and interior surfaces of a retainer wall such that a top crate is nestable within a bottom crate in a first position and stacked on top of a bottom crate when rotated 180. degree. to a second position with respect to the bottom crate. A plurality of stacking rings depend from the bottom floor and interlock a top crate with a bottom crate when crates are stacked or nested. Each stacking ring is aligned with a pocket in the crate and disposed over a bottle in a bottom crate. A bottle cap on the bottle seats within a depression formed in the stacking ring.

Abstract:

A rapid acting flow limiting valve is provided for an autoclave processing system. In this environment, each of a plurality of parts is placed in immediate proximity with a tool, then impressed into congruent engagement with the tool by an overlying vacuum bag, the interior of the vacuum bag being subjected to a vacuum via a vacuum manifold connecting all of the parts to a source of the vacuum, the interior of the vacuum bag being subjected to pressure. A first conduit leads from the chamber of the valve housing to the interior of the vacuum bag for its associated part, and a second conduit leads from the chamber to the vacuum manifold. An annular seal is positioned concentrically with an opening from the chamber into the first conduit. A flexible disk-shaped floating piston diaphragm assembly is peripherally fixed to the housing and is movable between an open position distant from the seal and a closed position engaged with the seal to thereby block flow through the first conduit. An annular spring concentric with the annular seal biases the floating piston diaphragm assembly toward the open position.
