Abstract:

A universally mountable motor comprises an armature and first and second bearing brackets fitted to the armature at opposite faces thereof respectively and spanning a bore formed therein. A rotor is fitted in the bore and is supported to rotate in the bore by bearings mounted in the bearing brackets. The bearing brackets are secured to the armature by bolts, each of which has a threaded end which projects from one of the brackets. The first bracket is formed with wings which extend parallel to one another on opposite sides of the axis of rotation of the rotor and are formed each with at least one undercut slot. A screw can be fitted in the slot with a threaded portion projecting from the bracket to receive a stand-off.

Moving map and other navigational display systems are disclosed herein which provide indications of relative position between a vehicle such as an aircraft and the terrain or other point(s) of reference. Optical images of a particular segment of terrain (or other reference data) are opto-mechanically selected in accordance with gross vehicle position; the selected segment image is coupled to a vidicon system or flying spot scanner system. By controlling the deflection circuits and thus the geometry of the vidicon raster or flying spot raster as a function of position and orientation of the vehicle as it moves, i. e. by electronically traversing the selected terrain image in duplication of the vehicle's motion (in accordance with the selected display stabilization mode), and photo-electrically sensing the image elements, a video representation of the vehicle's relative location and motion is obtained. This video is then displayed along with other desired data on a cathode ray tube or other display device.

Abstract:

The central axes of the retaining slots respectively are inclined to each other and the first additional regions are closer together than the second additional regions.

Two embodiments of a non-compatible television system are disclosed. In the first embodiment, two video sources of color television picture information, comprising an independent or stereoscopic pair of real-time images, are encoded and transmitted over a standard bandwidth channel to a non-standard television receiver, i. e. , one with means for decoding the encoded transmission. In the case of independent images the received encoded video signal is decoded to recover the two video sources for display; and in the case of stereoscopic images the received encoded video signal is decoded for presentation of stereoscopic imagery. In the second embodiment, a single video source of real-time color television picture information is encoded and transmitted over a half standard bandwidth channel to a non-standard television receiver. The received encoded video signal is decoded to recover the single video source for display. In both embodiments, the encoded video signal information may be transmitted to the receiver by means of a standard broadcast channel, a closed circuit channel, video recording and subsequent playback or any sequence of the preceding methods.
