Abstract:

A method and apparatus for a backup and restore service is provided. The backup and restore functionality provides the ability to use fleet-based provisioning, as well as the ability to delete personal data from a lost handset. Since restoration is also possible using this system, if the handset is recovered—or replaced by a new handset, the address book can be easily restored/transferred.

Abstract:

A method for providing visual hot watch spots in content item playback on a content sharing platform is disclosed. The method includes obtaining viewer feedback comprising input associated with a time interval segment of a content item of a content sharing platform, the viewer feedback received from user devices of users of the content sharing platform, determining a score for the time interval segment based on the viewer feedback, modifying a portion of a scrub bar user interface element of a media player presenting the content item by providing a visual indication of the score for the time interval segment corresponding to the portion, and providing a gradual transition between colors at one or more boundaries of the time interval segment, and updating the score and modifying the portion responsive to new viewer feedback received for the time interval segment during playback of the content item.

An interactive multi-view module identifies a plurality of media items associated with a real-world event, each of the plurality of media items comprising a video portion and an audio portion. The interactive multi-view module synchronizes the audio portions of each of the plurality of media items according to a common reference timeline, determines a relative geographic position associated with each of the plurality of media items and presents the plurality of media items in an interactive multi-view player interface based at least on the synchronized audio portions and the relative geographic positions.

The method includes separating, by a processing device of a content sharing platform, a duration of a content item into time interval segments. The method further includes, for each of the time interval segments, determining a score for the time interval segment in view of one or more signals indicating a popularity of the time interval segment to users viewing the content item on the content sharing platform, and providing a visual indication of the score for the time interval segment of the content item in a user interface presenting the content item.
