Abstract:
The system provides a mobile, full bi-directional, free-space optical (FSO) network providing networkability and internet connectivity. Each mobile system has a FSO transceiver communicating via line-of-sight (LOS) with a stationary FSO transceiver. Alternatively, the mobile system communicates with a relay FSO transceiver that is in contact with another relay and/or a stationary FSO transceiver. The system has diversity of wavelengths through a multi- wavelength system operating predominately in the infrared spectrum. The network is directionally constrained by the optical components to reduce interference with other networks. Pointing, acquisition, and tracking (PAT) of the network optical signal generator and receivers assists optical performance.

Abstract:
A method to sense pH of a fluid and an optical pH sensor. The method includes the steps of supplying at least a portion of an optical source through an input fiber. The optical source is passed through a sensor head having a sapphire window to a fluid. Optical power reflected from the fluid is collected in a plurality of output fibers in the sensor head. The reflected optical power in the output fibers in the sensor head is thereafter converted to an electrical signal which is used to determine the pH of the fluid.

Abstract:
The invention is generally a system and process for detecting phosphonate. The system and process detect and monitor phosphonate using optical, electronics and analytical software technology in a side stream to measure the level of phosphonate in the stream and then calculate the amount of the proper chemicals to inject into a cooling tower or boiler to prevent scale, rust and corrosion.
