Abstract:
The present invention relates to molecules involved in cell-cell interactions in the immune system. In particular, the invention relates to a cell surface protein which contains certain classical cadherin characteristics, but it exhibits an apical distribution pattern on the surface of lymphocytes. The membrane location of this molecule correlates with the contact interface between T and B cells, and antibodies against an extracellular domain of this protein disrupt T cell/B cell interactions.
Method Of Determining Interactions With Pdz-Domain Polypeptides

The invention provides reagents and methods for detecting pathogen infections in human samples. This detection utilizes specific proteins to detect the presence of pathogen proteins or abnormal expression of human proteins resulting from pathogen infections. Specific methods, compositions and kits are disclosed herein for the detection of oncogenic Human E6 proteins in clinical samples.
Effective Monitoring System For Anthrax Smallpox, Or Other Pathogens
A device and method for detecting anthrax or other pathogens are disclosed. Individual self-contained monitoring devices of a monitoring system can be portable or stationary (e. g. installed in air ducts or plumbing of buildings) and can be part of a network of devices. Monitoring devices may be used for the detection of a variety of airborne or surface pathogens, including but not limited to anthrax, smallpox, and Salmonella. Bioamplification-coupled proteomics assays provide rapid and reliable detection of pathogens, with self-checking capabilities reducing or eliminating false positives and false negatives. Sample preservation capability allows pathogen samples to be preserved after detection for further testing. The device of the invention can be remotely operated by minimally trained technicians or security personnel. The pathogen monitoring device of the invention provides a more compact, accurate, rapid, and cost-effective alternative to other anthrax detectors, and an effective weapon against bioterrorism.

Abstract:
The subject invention provides antibodies, including polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, that bind to E6 proteins from at least three oncogenic strains of HPV. In general, the antibodies bind to amino acids motifs that are conserved between the E6 proteins of different HPV strains, particularly HPV strains 16 and 18. The subject antibodies may be used to detect HPV E6 protein in a sample, and, accordingly, the antibodies find use in a variety of diagnostic applications, including methods of diagnosing cancer. Kits for performing the subject methods and containing the subject antibodies are also provided.

Abstract:
The invention provides reagents and methods for inhibiting or enhancing interactions between proteins in hematopoietic cells and other cells involved in the mediation of an immune response. Reagents and methods provided are useful for treatment of a variety of diseases and conditions mediated by immune system cells.
Nucleic Acid Molecule Encoding A Clasp-2 Transmembrane Protein
The present invention relates to a cell surface molecules, designated cadherin-like asymmetry proteins (“CLASPs”). In particular, it relates to CLASP-2 polynucleotides, polypeptides, fusion proteins, and antibodies. The invention also relates to methods of modulating an immune response by interfering with CLASP function.
