Abstract:
According to one exemplary embodiment, a gain reduction circuit comprises a first terminal, where the first terminal is coupled to a control signal. The gain reduction circuit further comprises a second terminal, where the second terminal is coupled to an input of an amplifier, and where the amplifier is configured to operate in low-power mode and high-power mode. The gain reduction circuit further comprises a transistor coupled to the first terminal and the second terminal. The transistor can be, for example, a bipolar transistor, such as an NPN GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor, having a base, a collector, and an emitter, where the base being is coupled the control signal, the collector is coupled to the input of the amplifier, and the emitter is coupled to ground. According to this exemplary embodiment, the transistor causes a gain of the amplifier to be reduced when the amplifier is operating in low-power mode.
The present invention is directed to a system and method for the secure and correct deletion of data files from a data storage that bypasses the file system of an operating system. A secure erase service receives a secure erase request from a system interceptor component, which has intercepted a system call from an application. The system call interceptor component communicates with the secure erase service via an interprocess communication module. The secure erase service receives the secure erase request from the interprocess communication module and communicates the secure erase request to a secure erase library. Using the file information contained in the secure erase request, the secure erase library queries the file system of the data storage device to determine the location of data blocks containing the to be deleted data. Once, the location of the data blocks has been determined, the secure erase library then instructs the device driver, via a virtual file system, to overwrite the data blocks storing the electronic file a predetermined number of times.
Method And System For Wireless Interfacing Of Electronic Devices
The present invention enables users to interface with a wide range of computing and telecommunication devices seamlessly without a cable connecting the devices. As such, the present invention allows for the replacement of the many proprietary cables that connect one device to another with one universal short-range radio link. The typical BLUETOOTH system consist of four basic components: a radio (RF section) that receives and transmits data and voice; a baseband or link control unit that processes the transmitted or received data; link management software that manages the transmission; and supporting application software. Electronic devices incorporating BLUETOOTH technology will replace RS-232, parallel, Universal Serial Bus (USB), and other types of cables with a single, standard wireless connection. BLUETOOTH radio technology will also provide a universal bridge to existing data networks, a peripheral interface, and a mechanism to form small private ad hoc groupings of connected devices away from fixed network infrastructures.

Abstract:
A system and method for the selective sharing of an electronic document. The method enables a user to share access to an electronic document stored on a repository on a document management system. A user, via a document processing services network, generates a password and token corresponding to the document to be shared. The token provides information regarding the electronic document to be shared and the way the shared document will be made available to other users. The user then gives the token along with the password to the other users desiring to have access to the shared document. The other users are then able to retrieve the electronic document via email, viewing on a web browser, or printing at a multifunction peripheral device.

Abstract:
A system for securing an implantable apparatus to a mammal includes a mount including a base portion having a plurality of holes dimensioned to receive rotationally-driven fasteners, each fastener comprising a helical portion having a tip configured for tissue penetration, the mount configured to secure the implantable apparatus relative to tissue of the mammal upon driving the fasteners into the tissue. The system further includes a fastening tool configured to rotationally drive the helical portion of the fasteners into the tissue. The mount may be secured to the fascia covering the sternum via a subcutaneous securement method, or it may be attached to the intra-abdominal wall, behind the sternum, or it may be attached to the sternum directly via bone screws or the like.

Abstract:
A circuit for generating a reference voltage includes a first transistor configured to receive a reference system voltage, the first transistor configured as a current source, the first transistor configured to provide a current independent of the system voltage, a plurality of diode devices configured to receive the current provided by the first transistor, and a second transistor associated with the plurality of diode devices, the second transistor configured to compensate for process variations in the first transistor, such that the plurality of diode devices provides a reference voltage that is at least partially compensated for the process variations.

A wrapped conductive yarn is disclosed with a center semiconductive strand and an outer conductive wrap strand. The outer conductive wrap strand is in electrical contact with the center semiconductive strand and has an electrical resistance that is no more than one-tenth of the electrical resistance of the center semiconductive strand. The center semiconductive strand is made of filaments that include a core and a semiconductive sheath.
