Abstract:

A radio frequency power amplifier including control electronics for providing control signals for timing of the power amplifier. A first group of the drivers are coupled to the control electronics and a second group of drivers are coupled to the control electronics. The first group of drivers operate in response to the control signals to generate first drive signals and the second group of drivers operate in response to the control signals to generate second drive signals with a phase difference of 180 relative to the first drive signals. A first group of switches energize a first group of primary windings in response to the first drive signals and a second group of switches energize a second group of primary windings in response to the second drive signals. An output summing transformer has a plurality of ferrite cores, the first group of primary windings and the second group of primary windings passing through the ferrite cores. A secondary output winding for connection with a load passes through the ferrite cores of the output summing transformer.

This relates to a method for controlling illumination of a display screen on a mobile device. A light source is turned on to illuminate the display screen. An amount of information displayed on the display screen is identified. An amount of time to keep the light source turned on is determined based at least in part on the identified amount of information. The light source is kept turned on at a first intensity level for the amount of time and then turned to a second intensity level.

In one aspect, adhesives for use with a 3D printer are described herein. In some embodiments, an adhesive for use with a 3D printer comprises a first polymeric component comprising a poly(vinyl alcohol) and a second polymeric component. The poly(vinyl alcohol), in some embodiments, comprises amorphous poly(vinyl alcohol). In some embodiments, the second polymeric component comprises a water-soluble polymer. Abstract:

A bearing liner for attachment to a substrate comprising a first wear resistant layer and a second wear resistant layer joined to the first wear resistant layer. The second wear resistant layer serves to increase the useful life of the bearing liner. In addition, the second wear resistant layer serves as a compliant layer for receiving any projections in the substrate so that the tendency of any such projections to cause local protrusions of the wear surface of the first wear resistant layer is reduced.

Abstract:

To provide support for a rotatable shaft, a bearing ball is fixed to the shaft and rotatably mounted within a bearing race. A low friction liner which is disposed between the wearing surfaces of the ball and the race includes a backing, which can be adhered to the wearing surface of the bearing race, and a layer of low friction material, which can be disposed to contact the bearing and thereby provide permanent lubrication between the bearing and the race. The backing can be paper impregnated with chopped, compressed fibers such as wood or rice to provide the liner with a substantially linear stress-strain characteristic similar to that of metals. The paper backing reduces the deflection of the liner in response to compressive stresses so that the accuracy of movement of the bearing within the race is increased significantly. The layer of low friction material may be formed from an intimate mixture of an adhesive and small particles of a low friction material.

A three-dimensional (3D) printing system for manufacturing a 3D article includes a resin vessel, a build tray, a movement mechanism, a light engine, a housing, a gas handling system, and a controller. The resin vessel includes a transparent sheet on a lower side. The housing defines two chambers including an upper chamber and a lower chamber. The upper chamber is in fluidic communication with the resin contained by the resin vessel. The lower chamber is in fluid communication with a lower surface of the transparent sheet. The controller is configured to (a) operate the gas handling system to reduce and control a partial pressure of oxygen in the upper and lower chambers, (b) operate the movement mechanism and the light engine to form the 3D article in a layer-by-layer manner.

A three dimensional printer includes a vessel, a light engine, a fixture, a movement mechanism, a sensor, and a controller. The vessel is for containing a liquid photocurable resin and includes a transparent sheet defining a lower surface through which the resin can be illuminated. There is provided an additive manufacturing system comprising a vertical stage (also known as a z-stage) that moves the object being created along an axis of motion that is not perpendicular to the image plane (non-parallel to the z-axis of the image plane). By moving the build platform, upon which the additively manufactured object is being supported, along a predetermined axis of motion, such as one adapted to the dominant axis of the object design, the additive manufacturing system is capable of making larger objects, shortening build times, improving part resolution, and/or reducing the volume of photocurable material needed, among other benefits.
