Doctor Says Penis Amputation Patient Should Have Been Consulted
Benson, a urologist for 25 years, was called by the attorney for Phillip and Deborah Seaton of Waddy, who have sued Frankfort Dr. John Patterson for removing a portion of Phillip Seaton's penis in 2007 without their knowledge.
Former truck driver Phillip Seaton testified Monday during his civil trial against Dr. John Patterson. He says when the doctor told him the news after the 2007 surgery, he went into the restroom, pulled down the surgical dressing and couldnt see his penis.
According to Robinson, Phillip Seaton had signed consent forms giving his approval to perform any necessary medical procedure during the surgery. He says it wasn't until 2009, two years after the original surgery, that another doctor here in Louisville removed all of Seaton's penis.
