Abstract:

The present invention solves the need for non-toxic forms of selenium which is an essential part of the human diet. This invention provides novel dried-yeast products containing selenium as well as a method of producing the dried yeast products. The method uses selenium having high biological activity but low toxicity. The invention also provides nutritional supplements containing the novel selenium containing dried yeast products and methods of administering these products and supplements to improve human health. The invention also provides a practically non-toxic yeast selenium product having increased intracellular selenium concentrations and methods to reduce tumor cell growth by administration of a selenium yeast product in combination with chemotherapeutic agents. In particular, selenium yeast product of strain ATCC 74366.

A MPS, carrying a buyer's products, is dispatched to an optimal pickup point chosen by the buyer. A MPS may be used to both deliver and receive products. In an alternative embodiment, a MPS server finds stores with buyer desired products along the buyer's commuting route.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for facilitating selection of a pick up location by a user. A user accesses a shipper's web site from a seller's web site in order to select a pick up location for an item purchased from the seller by the user when the user is uncertain of the address of a suitable pick up location. The user selects a pick up location using the shipper's web site and the pick up location is transmitted to the seller's web site for use in shipping the item to the user. The shipper's web site facilitates selection of a pick up location by the user by generating a set of possible pick up locations from which the user selects a pick up location. The set of possible pick up locations may be generated using a geographic location such as an address, landmark, zipcode, or other locality indicator. In addition, the set of possible pick up locations may be generated from a route entered by the user or a route generated by a shipper's server using route end points supplied by the user.

Abstract:

A method and system for accepting order and scheduling delivery of meals to buyers. A Mobile Pickup Station (MPS) server is placed within a computer network and lists a number of participating restaurants on its web site. A buyer logs onto the MPS web site to order food from a participating restaurant. The server passes the order to the participating restaurant for production. An optimal pickup location is selected and the order is picked up from the participating restaurant and is delivered to the pickup location for pickup. A temperature-controlled truck enclosing the buyer order is dispatched to the pickup location. The truck is then stationed at the pickup location for a determined period of time waiting for buyers to pick up their orders.
