Abstract:

The present invention solves the need for non-toxic forms of selenium which is an essential part of the human diet. This invention provides novel dried-yeast products containing selenium as well as a method of producing the dried yeast products. The method uses selenium having high biological activity but low toxicity. The invention also provides nutritional supplements containing the novel selenium containing dried yeast products and methods of administering these products and supplements to improve human health. The invention also provides a practically non-toxic yeast selenium product having increased intracellular selenium concentrations and methods to reduce tumor cell growth by administration of a selenium yeast product in combination with chemotherapeutic agents. In particular, selenium yeast product of strain ATCC 74366.

Abstract:

A method and system for scheduling delivery and delivery of products to buyers. The products include user ordered meals. A Mobile Pickup Station (MPS) server is placed within a computer network and receives product shipping instructions from buyers or third party sellers. The MPS server determines optimal pickup points using buyer commuting information and buyer delivery requests. A portable kiosk or locker station, enclosing buyers' purchases within individually lockable lockers, is placed at a pickup point chosen by the buyers. The buyers use access codes, such as a product ID and password, to unlock the lockers and receive their purchases.

Abstract:

An internal combustion engine comprising a combustion chamber having at least two rigidly fixed inner wall surfaces and at least three movable inner wall surfaces reciprocally mounted and adapted to reciprocate from a first position lessening the internal volume of the combustion chamber to a second position expanding the internal volume of the combustion chamber. The reciprocal linear movements of the movable, inner wall surfaces are operatively coupled to a crankshaft. Abstract:

Methods of making a frozen confection with a whistle element encased therein are disclosed. In a first embodiment a one-piece first mold with a central through-passage containing a shoulder is used to make a first frozen part with support sticks therein. A complementarily shaped second mold is used to make a second frozen part with a matching through-passage. A whistle element is inserted into the through-passage of the first part until the element abuts the shoulder and then the second part is inserted, pressure is applied, and the two parts are frozen together. A second embodiment employs a two-piece first mold and alternative ways of securing the whistle element in the finished frozen confection are disclosed. In a third embodiment for soft frozen products such as ice-cream, an ingredient is frozen in a mold and a tubular tool is used to remove some of the frozen ingredient to create a central through-passage with a shoulder into which the whistle element is inserted and retained with a frozen plug. Other embodiments employ a two-piece and one-piece mold which define hollow spaces to accommodate a whistle element.
