Abstract:
A grafted polyolefin polymers having high polarity produced by grafting bi-functional N-substituted diacids to maleated or other functional group grafted polyolefin. The new polymers exhibit improved water miscibility, compatability and good adhesion to polar materials such as nylon, polyester, glass, and metal substrates.
Catalyst Promotor For The Manufacture Of Polyphenols
A process for the manufacture of a polyphenol compound such as bisphenol-A by introducing into a reaction zone a phenolic compound reactant, a carbonyl compound reactant, and a catalyst promoter comprising a dithioketal compound, and reacting the ingredients within the reaction zone in the presence of an acid catalyst.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to reaction products formed from maleic anhydride and amino carboxylic acids. The reaction products are particularly useful for grafting polyolefins to increase their polarity and therefore enhance their physical properties.
Process Of Reducing Stereoregular Character Of Carbon Monoxide/Olefin Copolymer With Organic Base
Certain linear alternating polymers of carbon monoxide and aliphatic. alpha. -olefin of 3 or more carbon atoms are characterized by a high degree of stereoregular character. Reduction of the degree of this stereoregular character, whether syndiotactic or isotactic, is achieved together with an increase in atactic character by contacting the stereoregular polymer with organic base at elevated temperature.

International Classification:

US Classification:
528392
Abstract:
An improved process for the production of linear alternating polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon comprises the contacting of the monomeric reactants under polymerization conditions in the presence of a reaction diluent and a catalyst composition formed from a palladium compound, the anion of a non-hydrohalogenic strong acid and a mixed tetraaryl diphosphine ligand, one of which diphosphines has an ortho alkoxy substituent on each aryl moiety and one of which is free from alkoxy substitution in ortho positions. The process is characterized by a relatively high degree of catalyst activity and a low degree of reactor fouling.

Abstract:
Regio-regular copolymers of carbon monoxide and an ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon are produced by contacting the carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon under polymerization conditions in the presence of a more active catalyst composition formed from a palladium compound, the anion of a strong non-hydrohalogenic acid and a tetraalkyl diphosphine ligand.
Carbon Monoxide/Olefin Polymerization With Diluent Comprising Aprotic Solvent And Water
An improved process for the production of linear alternating polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon comprises the use as reaction diluent of a mixture of an aprotic diluent and water.
Crosslinked Elastomers Containing Benzocyclobutene Derivatives As Crosslinking Agents
Polymeric compositions which may be readily crosslinked at temperatures above about 200. degree. C. comprise an elastomeric polymer possessing olefinic unsaturation and an effective amount of a benzocyclobutene derivative of the general formula ##STR1## where "X" is selected from the group consisting of ##STR2## where "R" is an alkylene group of 1 to 10 carbon atoms. Cured compositions are also claimed.
