A system for reversing heat transfer from an exhaust system assembly on a vehicle comprising an engine block assembly and transaxle assembly operatively connected and located in an engine compartment of an automobile. The system comprises a number one exhaust manifold stay mount, a number two exhaust manifold stay mount, and a front exhaust collector pipe bracket and stay mount. The system comprises an exhaust system with a front exhaust collector pipe located beneath the engine block assembly. The system comprises an engine block assembly heat shield with a cross-section generally comprising the shape of a āUā that is located next to the surface of the engine block assembly. The engine block assembly heat shield is located over and overlays the front exhaust collector pipe bracket and stay mount, the number one exhaust manifold stay mount, and the number two exhaust manifold stay mount.

Abstract:
A fare computer for a taxi, a freight carrier, or other use calculates the fare, display the fare as it accrues and displays visual representations of each charge contributing to the accrued fare. The fare computer is particularly suited for use in those localitites in which the taxi fare is based upon zones of travel, in accordance with a zone tariff schedule, rather than on total distance travelled. In a first mode, or ZONE TARIFF MODE, the fare computer calculates the fare from primary charge data, derived from the number of zones traversed in travelling from the origin of the trip to the destination, and secondary charge data, derived from such events as the handling of luggage or pets, extra stops, extra passengers or responding to a telephone request for passenger pick up. A display presents visual representations of the origin and destination zones and of each secondary charge contributing to the accrued fare, along with display of the total accrued fare. Alternatively, in a second mode, or HOURLY RATE MODE, the fare computer computes a fare based upon primary charges derived from the time the vehicle is under hire, such as for limousine or sight-seeing services, and particular secondary charges.
Apparatus For Isolating From Ground And Exciting A Conductive Tower For Use As A Vertical Antenna
A method and preferred apparatus for introducing radio frequency isolation near the base of a conductive tower to prevent significant flow of RF current into the ground, thereby to produce an elevated vertical antenna. The invention further relates to a method and apparatus for introducing RF power into the upper portion of the isolated tower to cause said portion to radiate or receive at desired frequencies. Isolation and "excitation" are accomplished by the placement of tuned shortened quarter wave conductive sections along selected portions of the tower, the quarter wave sections used for antenna excitation being also used for impedance transformation to match a coaxial transmission line of nominal inmpedance.
