Corey Hulen - Sammamish WA, US
  • Assignee:
    MICROSOFT CORPORATION - Redmond WA
  • International Classification:
    G06F 7/08
    G06F 17/30
  • US Classification:
    707 7, 707E17009
  • Abstract:
Architecture for slicing data defined on both tabular data sources and in OLAP (online analytical processing) multidimensional data sources by time relative to the current date simultaneously with the same time intelligence (TI) filter on a dashboard page. The architecture employs a simple time period specification (STPS) language used to specify time periods in monitoring server TI filters, and key performance indicator (KPI) filters. The architecture maps all time dimensions to a common set of time aggregations (hierarchy) and to a common calendar.

  • US Patent:
    20080172629, Jul 17, 2008
  • Filed:
    Jan 17, 2007
  • Appl. No.:

  • US Classification:
    715771, 707103 R, 707E17009
  • Abstract:
Users are enabled to utilize data from performance metrics to drive the behavior of geometric shapes to visualize business performance and create new composite objects that show magnitude, patterns of structured and unstructured data, interrelationships, causalities, and dependencies. Presentations are then rendered in a performance metric application or in another application through an embeddable user interface using the geometric shapes and composite objects. Automatic update of presented information in response to changes in the underlying data is enabled through the use of composite objects.
