A storm shutter assembly for a building structure has a frame assembly configured for securing around an opening in the building structure. The frame assembly has a top frame member, a bottom frame member coupled to the first frame member, a first side frame member coupled to the top frame member and the second frame member, and a second side frame member coupled to the top frame member and the second frame member opposite said first side frame member. One or more shutter panels are configured for fitting within the frame assembly when the frame assembly is secured to the building around a window or door opening. The shutter panel may be secured by hinges or locks with sliding pins and easily put up or taken down in case of a hurricane or tornado.
