  • Bolt Retaining Article

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20020159861, Oct 31, 2002
  • Filed:
    Apr 27, 2001
  • Appl. No.:
    09/844945
  • Inventors:
Raymond Genick - Waterford MI, US
  • International Classification:
    F16B021/18
  • US Classification:
    411/353000
  • Abstract:
A bolt retaining article retains a bolt within a bore of a structure prior to the bolt being threadingly engaged within the bore. The bolt retaining article includes a tubular body having inner and outer diameters. The tubular body including a plurality of concave sections and a plurality of convex sections. The concave and convex sections alternate around the tubular body. A number of engaging arms extend outwardly from the exterior surface of the tubular body to secure the bolt retaining article within the bore of the structure. A bolt may or may not be in the bolt retaining article when it is inserted into the bore, depending on the manufacturing operation being implemented. The compressive forces created by the compression of the bolt retainer article when it is inserted into the bore prevent it from falling out. Likewise, the compression of the bolt retaining article around the bolt prevents the bolt from slipping out once inserted into the bolt retaining article. The bolt may slide within the bolt retaining article, but only with the application of an external axial force.

  • Filed:
    Oct 15, 2002
  • Appl. No.:
    10/271134
  • Inventors:
Raymond Genick - Waterford MI, US
John Campbell - Hazel Park MI, US
  • International Classification:
    B60S001/32
    B60S001/34
  • US Classification:
    015/250190, 015/250001, 015/250351
  • Abstract:
A wiper assembly wipes precipitation and debris of a windshield of a motor vehicle. The wiper assembly includes a drive motor fixedly secured to the motor vehicle. The wiper assembly also includes a wiper arm secured to the drive motor. The drive motor pivots the wiper arm across the windshield to clean the windshield. The wiper arm extends between a motor end and a distal end. The wiper arm also includes a separator extending along the wiper arm. The separator lifts the wiper arm away from the windshield allowing for the removal of debris from the windshield and the wiper arm.

  • US Classification:
    280/086753, 280/124100
  • Abstract:
A cam bolt assembly for using in a vehicle's suspension system to adjust the vehicle's wheel alignment is disclosed having a threaded fastener defining a pair of longitudinal channels, a first cam plate is coupled to the threaded bolt, a second cam plate defining an aperture is mated to the pair of longitudinal channels. At least one of the cam plates has an arcuate slot configured to mate with a component of the suspension system.
  • Fastener Assembly And Method Employing A Flanged Metal Nut With A Metal Cup Washer Rotatably Mounted Thereon

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20040234358, Nov 25, 2004
  • Filed:
    May 21, 2003
  • Appl. No.:
    10/442167
  • Inventors:
Raymond Genick - Waterford MI, US
  • Assignee:
    Newfrey LLC
  • International Classification:
    F16B043/00
  • US Classification:
    411/533000
  • Abstract:
A fastener assembly comprises a metal nut having an integral flange and a metal cup washer rotatably mounted on the flange, with an outer disc surface of the flange adjacent to an inner disc surface of the washer, and with portions of a sidewall of the washer overlying the flange to hold the washer captive on the flange. An outer disc surface of the washer, which engages a surface of a workpiece, has a plurality of grooves extending transversely to the circumference of the outer disc surface. The entire fastener assembly is coated, as a unit, with an anti-corrosive lubricant. The grooves provide a frictional force between the washer and the workpiece that exceeds the frictional force between the nut and the washer, but do not mar the workpiece surface.
