Mental health expert Raymond Patterson and a lawyer for Orleans Parish Sheriff Marlin Gusman debated whether a door to that shower area could be opened from the outside. Sheriffs attorney James Williams insisted the door had a mechanism that could be opened from the outside.

Buffalo Police continue to investigate fatal shootings
The first shooting happened on Oakmont Tuesday afternoon. Raymond Patterson, III, 14, was shot and killed. Three other males in their teens were also shot, but are expected to be ok. Police believe people in the area know the suspect and are asking them to step forward.
Just hours earlier, around 3:30 p.m. police say Raymond Patterson III, 14, was killed near a playground on Oakmont Avenue. Officers believe a fight started between two girls, and moments later a lone gunman fired shots into a crowd.
