Cross considers statewide office, could leave leadership
State Rep. Jim Durkin, a Western Springs Republican, is the main suburban candidate to replace Cross as leader. The other main candidate, Durkin said, will be state Rep. Raymond Poe, a Springfield Republican.

COGFA members seek ruling on whether they can block health insurance switch
The decision to drop the two HMOs has stirred anger among state employees fearful they will have to select new doctors in order to remain in an HMO or join another health plan with higher co-payments in order to keep their doctors. Rep. Raymond Poe, R-Springfield, said an online protest petition on his web site has drawn more than 450 responses in less than two days.
