Abstract:

A container covering system for open truck containers provides enhanced control and maneuverability of a tarp for covering containers of different sizes. A tarp can be extended and retracted under rotary movements of elements of the system to adapt for different lengths of containers. A tarp device includes the tarp, which can move between a stowed position and an extended position to cover the top of an open container. A pair of forward arms are pivotable with respect to a first pivot axis defined on the device. A pair of rear arms are pivotable respect to second pivot axis that is defined on the rear ends of the forward arms. A cross member extends between the end of the rear arms which are opposed to the second pivot axis. The cross member retains the leading end of the tarp and is movable with the rear arms. The rear arms are biased to rotate towards the rear end of the container.

Abstract:

Disclosed is a container covering apparatus that permits one-handed unrolling and rolling of a cover over a container. Generally, the apparatus includes a roller and a rollable cover connected to the roller. Preferably, the cover is normally biased towards the unrolled position. The apparatus further includes a crank assembly having a crankshaft, a releasable locking mechanism, and a brake. The locking mechanism is engaged when the crankshaft is rotated in a first direction. When the crankshaft is rotated in the opposing second direction, the locking mechanism is disengaged, and the operator may engage the brake. In another embodiment, a covering apparatus including a crankshaft operatively coupled to a roller mechanism is disclosed. The crankshaft handle includes an arm portion and a gripping portion. The gripping portion is moveable between a first and second position.

Abstract:

A road marking removal system creating a blasting mixture by injecting particulate matter from a media hopper into flowing compressed air. The blasting mixture is directed at a road marking via a blasting nozzle. The nozzle discharges the blasting mixture from within a marking removal head housing. A vacuum is applied to an interior of the marking removal head housing for collecting the residual material created by the removal process. The residual material consists of particulate matter, road marking debris, and the like. The collected material can optionally be sorted with material of an acceptable size being reclaimed and forwarded to the media hopper for reuse. The road marking removal system can be manually operated being integrated into a cart, or remotely operated when integrated into a vehicle.

A bulkhead includes an upper member and a lower member which are vertically adjustable to vary the height of the bulkhead. The bulkhead has a reduced thickness portion along at least one vertical edge.
