Abstract:
A low load fuser member for heating and fusing high quality toner images onto an image carrying substrate is provided. The low load fuser member includes a soft, low durometer and thermally non-conductive first elastomeric material member for forming a relatively large fusing nip at a relatively low load; a second and thermally conductive elastomeric material forming an intermediate layer over the first elastomeric material member; and a toner image release layer formed over the intermediate layer for facilitating release of fused toner images.
A roller is provided. The roller includes a ceramic body, an aluminum member attached to the ceramic body, and a shaft attached to the aluminum member.

Abstract:
A fuser member using an RFID tag and a method for evaluating the performance of a fuser member using a RFID tag are disclosed. An RFID tag may be attached to a fuser member during a manufacturing process. Production data pertaining to the fuser member may be stored on the RFID tag during the manufacturing process as well. Once manufactured, the fuser member may be used in a xerographic apparatus. Run-time data may be stored in the RFID tag during operating of the xerographic apparatus. After the fuser member is removed from the xerographic apparatus, the performance of the fuser member may be evaluated by examining the run-time data. The fuser member may include a core, optionally made of metal, an insulating layer, and an RFID tag.

Abstract:
A method of forming an economical image conditioning device suitable for conditioning low solids and high solids images in a liquid Immersion Development reproduction machine. The method includes the steps of arranging a quantity of metallic fibers into a flat pattern having a desired thickness; partially compressing and sintering the fibers forming the pattern to create a sintered metallic fiber sheet held together by metallic bonds between touching fibers; rolling the sintered metallic fiber sheet into a cylindrical shape having a seam; welding the seam to create a finished cylindrical core; and forming a foam layer and a skin layer over the core for contacting an image being conditioned.
A roller is provided. The roller includes a ceramic body, an aluminum member attached to the ceramic body, and a shaft attached to the aluminum member.
