Abstract:
A mold closure assembly for a mounting press for mounting metallurgical specimens in a plastic mount including a cap lockingly insertable in the upper end of the mold, a conical member disposed in a mating conical recess in the lower end of said cap, spring means for urging said conical member into such mating relation, a compression member adapted for a sliding fit in the mold and handle means attached to the cap and foldable to a non-obstructing position to permit a temperature control unit to be attached to or removed from the closure assembly.
A wide pocket curtain rod assembly comprising first and second rod members, each rod member having a first end and a second end, the rod members being slidably engageable via their second ends to form a telescoping curtain rod, each of the rod members having a crimp adjacent their first end which allows each of the members to be hand-bent into an L-shaped member with a facial section and a lateral section, first and second brackets, the brackets attachable to the lateral sections of the rod members for mounting the curtain rod, stiffening ridges, the stiffening ridges connected to the rod members, and an adjustable bracket having a mounting plate having a mounting face and an insert section, an elongated longitudinal aperture and a hand-operable fastener insertable in the aperture for fastening the mounting plate to the rod, wherein the mounting plate is fastened to the rod by inserting the fastener through a fastener hole in the rod and into the aperture.
An adjustable drapery support assembly comprises a first elongated plate member adapted to be inserted into the top of a pleat or fold in a drapery, and a second plate member hinged at its top to the top of the first member, with the edges of the members in substantial alignment. At a point spaced from the hinge, the plates are provided with interlocking means to secure the assembly to the drapery. The aligned edges of the plates are provided with suitable gripping means which supports the top of the drapery and prevents downward sagging. Along a side edge of the second plate opposite that aligned with the first plate, there is provided an adjustable attaching means including a hook assembly which can be attached at any desired point along the length of the plate.
Master carrier for a baton traversing drapery system comprises an elongated hanger adapted to be received in the horizontal gap of the conventional C-shaped type of traverse rod. The hanger element supports beneath the rod a platform having a rim along its outer edge which is inclined relative to the direction of travel. Spaced along the length of the inclined edge of the platform are a plurality of openings into which a drapery hook assembly can be installed and locked, by means of a clamp interacting with the rim of the platform. A pair of identical master carriers can be used to create an overlap in adjacent drapery panels without the necessity for using a projecting arm for this purpose. Attached to the outer face of the upper edge of the drapery is a baton which is attached to the drapery at substantially the point at which the drapery is suspended from the master carrier. Accordingly, when force is applied to the baton to move the drapery, little or no torque is created.

Abstract:
A descender printing system for a dot matrix printer, comprising a detector for detecting code words representative of descender characters (lower case letters, punctuation, fractions, etc. ) prior to printing, and shift means for actuating the line feed mechanism of the printer to advance the paper by two or more dot heights and thereby print the descender elements of such characters below the normal base line. The shift means again actuates the line feed mechanism to return the paper to its original position when the next non-descender character is to be printed.
An adjustable drapery support assembly comprises a base plate including a web of a solid semi-rigid material which can be penetrated by a sewing needle. The base plate is adapted to be positioned in the opening formed between the opposed sides of a fold in the drapery material which is to be made into a pleat. With the base plate in place, the opposed sides of the fold are sewn or otherwise connected together through the web, thus simultaneously forming a pleat and interlocking the base plate and the drapery material. Along a side edge of the base plate, which protrudes out of the fold to the rear of the drapery, there is provided an adjustable attaching means including a hook assembly which can be attached at any point along the edge of the base plate. The side edges of the base plate are not parallel, but rather taper towards each other in an upward direction. Accordingly, as the position of the hook relative to the base plate is lowered, outwardly tilting or sagging of the unsupported upper edge of the drapery is limited or reduced.
An adjustable drapery support assembly comprises a vertical elongated base which can be attached at its lower end to the rear surface of a drapery at a point opposite a preformed pleat therein, with the upper end of the base adjacent the upper edge of the drapery. The base is provided at its upper end with a hinged clamping arm which engages the upper edge of the drapery, thereby inhibiting outward sagging of the top thereof. In a preferred embodiment, the clamping arm is provided with a plate member of limited vertical dimension adapted to enter the open end of the pleat, thereby maintaining the angular orientation thereof. The support assembly includes an adjustable hook assembly which can be attached at any desired point along the length of the base.
