Abstract:

A clothes dryer with safety feature of lint airflow obstruction detection comprises a frame connectable to a conventional clothes dryer. An anemometer sensor grid connected to the frame. The anemometer sensor grid is capable of detecting airflow therethrough. A light is electrically connected to the anemometer sensor grid.

Abstract:

A device and method for detecting lint in a clothes dryer are disclosed. A lint detector is positioned within the clothes dryer. A light source is also positioned within the clothes dryer. The lint detector has a surface that receives light emitted by the light source. Further, the lint detector has a photocell that receives light reflected from the surface if lint covers the surface. A determination is made as to whether a threshold amount of light has been received. An indication such as the activation of a warning light can be provided if the threshold amount of light is received. Another response is shutting the clothes dryer down.

Abstract:

A method of detecting lint in a clothes dryer is disclosed. Light is directed through a surface within the clothes dryer, the light being emitted by a light source. The light is received at a photocell if the light is reflected off the surface when lint covers the surface. An indication is provided that lint is present within the clothes dryer if light is received at the photocell. Furthermore, a voltage level detector is positioned within the lint detector and determined if a threshold amount of light is received. In another aspect, if the threshold amount of light is received a warning light, an audio speaker, or an electrical output can be activated. Likewise, the clothes dryer can be automatically shut down. In another aspect, the photocell is a phototransistor. In another aspect, the photocell is a photoresistor.

Abstract:

Methods and apparatuses of for detecting lint are disclosed. In one embodiment, a light is directed to a plate. The light can be being emitted by a light source. A reflectometer is calibrated to a specific thermal emissivity of the plate. The thermal emission resulting from the light directed to the plate is received at the reflectometer. Lint is permitted to deposit on the plate. A change in thermal emission is detected if lint deposits on the plate. The change in thermal emission can be detected by the reflectometer. An indication that lint is present within the clothes dryer is provided if a change in thermal emission is detected by the reflectometer.

Abstract:

A tone detector is connected or otherwise associated with an outgoing telephone trunk line adapted to be included in a toll path. One or more frequency or tone signals are sent over the trunk line for signaling and control during a toll call. If these tone signals appear at a point on the trunk line where the toll call remains under the control of d. c. signals, they must be fraudulent since there is no preceding equipment which is adapted to send valid tone signals. Therefore, a tone detector may be connected to that point in order to drop or otherwise block any calls during which the fraudulent tone signals appear. The toll fraud eliminator is particularly -- but not exclusively -- useful for preventing employment of a "blue box" during toll calls. The tone detector uses two multivibrators which operate at an upper and a lower threshold frequency respectively. The half cycles of a given polarity in the single frequency tone must recur fast enough to continuously reset the multivibrator running at the lower threshold frequency, but not fast enough to continuously reset the multivibrator running at the upper threshold frequency.

Abstract:

A dispension for whipped beverages made from a concentrate and diluent. The dispenser includes a head structure forming a whipping cavity. A funnel is removably inserted into the cavity bottom. Two conduits communicating with the cavity are formed in the head to introduce concentrate and diluent into the cavity. An air passageway is formed in the head and intersects the diluent conduit downstream from the solenoid valve. A tube is inserted into the air passageway and partially extends into the diluent conduit to introduce air into the diluent conduit via a venturi effect. A whipping motor has an output shaft disposed through a bore in the head and partially residing in the cavity below the conduits. A paddle is connected to the motor shaft within the cavity. A resilient slinger washer is disposed in a circumferential groove about the shaft.
