Abstract:
Controlling the common mode impedance for a circuit, conductor, or multiple conductor cable by incorporating the circuit or conductor into the primary of a transformer. The secondary of the transformer is coupled to a secondary impedance selected so that the desired impedance is obtained. A capacitive shunt may be added to buffer the intrinsic primary impedance. The intrinsic impedance of a conductive antenna structure is controlled by deploying a portion of the antenna structure as the primary of a transformer and coupling the secondary of the transformer to a selectable secondary impedance.

Abstract:
A method for reducing call dropping rates in a multi-beam communication system. The multi-beam communication system includes a user terminal, a gateway, and a plurality of beam sources, where each beam source projects a plurality of beams, and where a communication link between the user terminal and the gateway is established on one or more beams. The method according to the present invention relies on a messaging protocol between the gateway and the user terminal. Based on messages sent from the user terminal to the gateway, preferably on a preselected periodic basis, the gateway can determine the more desirable beam(s) for transmitting data or information to the user terminal. The messages sent from the user terminal to the gateway contain values representing beam strengths as measured at the user terminal. The gateway uses the user terminal measured beam strengths to select the beams that should be used for transmitting data or information to the user terminal. The beams that should be used are the beams that if used will decrease the call dropping rates and provide a desired level of beam source diversity.

Abstract:
Methods of writing display data to MEMS display elements are configured to minimize charge buildup and differential aging. Simultaneous to writing rows of image data, a pre-write operation is performed on a next row. The pre-write operation writes either image data or the inverse of the image data to the next row. In some embodiments, the selection between writing image data and writing inverse image data is performed in a random or pseudo-random manner.

A surveillance system includes video surveillance cameras that are in various locations sought to be monitored. Each camera is associated with a variable frame rate that is faster when motion is detected in the location and slower when little or no motion is detected, to improve resolution when needed. A system hub receives video feeds from the cameras and sends them on to wireless clients upon client request.
Methods and computing devices enable identifying particular software functions, modules or arithmetic blocks within a software binary image. Memory register and memory address references within the binary image are normalized. Functions within the binary image are identified. Each function within the binary image is compared against one or more reference function binary images to determine if there is a match. The function-to-reference function comparison may be accomplished by comparing bit patterns or by comparing hash values generated by applying a hash function to the selected function and the reference function. Component parts within functions in the binary image can be identified and compared to reference function component parts within a reference function or within a database of reference function component parts. Results of the comparisons may be used to determine a degree to which the software binary image matches reference functions and/or component parts.

Abstract:
A system and method for evaluating programmable device systems captures, categorizes, indexes, manipulates and stores generated embedded trace generated information in an enterprise database. Use cases may be executed on an ETM enabled processor, ETM trace data may be captured, and captured trace data may be manipulated and stored in the enterprise database. The data collected from numerous use cases over multiple executions may be used to generate a differential comparison. The differential comparison may be used to interpret and predict bottlenecks, bugs and irregularities within the programmable device.
System And Method For Dynamic Battery Current Load Management In A Portable Computing Device
Various embodiments of methods and systems for managing battery capacity in a portable computing device (“PCD”) are disclosed. One such method includes leveraging a request/grant algorithm that receives a request from an offline component to come online. If battery capacity is available to accommodate the offline component, the request is granted. If battery capacity is not available to accommodate the offline component, the request is authorized at a reduced power level or capacity is created by reducing power to online components. Another method polls a battery to monitor demand on its capacity by active components. Offline components likely to come online concurrently with the active components are identified and ranked based on power consumption. A target current margin is adjusted based on the highest power consumption associated with an identified block of offline components.
