Abstract:
A stator frame for an electric motor including a substantially cylindrical shaped body section having opposed ends, a cooling passageway extending through at least a portion of the body section, and at least one spacer bar. The cooling passageway includes a cooling conduit having an inlet port and an outlet port in flow communication with the cooling passageway. The spacer bar has a notched side and at least one finger extending therefrom such that the finger mechanically couples the spacer bar to the cooling conduit.
A skew angle setting tool and method for assisting in orienting the skew pin of an apparatus having a mandrel for stacking rotor laminations for dynamoelectric machines is described. The skew pin is movable to have at least one predetermined angular orientation with respect to the axis of the mandrel. The tool includes a first member configured to be positioned in a generally coextensive relation with the mandrel and has at least one location thereon corresponding to a preselected rotor lamination stack height, and a second member disposed in predetermined relation to the location on the first member corresponding to the preselected rotor lamination stack height. The skew pin is positionable in registration with one or more locations on the second member to orient the skew pin in corresponding angular orientations with respect to the mandrel axis.
Systems, Methods And Apparatus For Inspecting Stator Cores
Methods and apparatus for automated inspection of stator cores are described. In one embodiment, a coherent light transmitter and a light detector are optically aligned so that the detector is in the path of an optical signal emitted from the light transmitter when such signal propagates substantially uninterrupted. The light transmitter and detector are also spaced from each other at a distance sufficient to allow a stator core to be moved, e. g. , translated or rotated, therebetween. Output signals from the detector are processed to determine whether the core is acceptable.
