Abstract:

A pressure flush system for use within a toilet tank includes a pressure flush tank having an inlet port and a discharge port, an air inlet, and a valve assembly. The valve assembly includes a generally cylindrical housing, a water inlet in fluid communication with the pressure flush tank, a water outlet in fluid communication with the discharge port, a normally closed valve which allows fluid communication between the water inlet and water outlet when the valve is opened, a piston axially spaced from the valve, and a flexible tube positioned within the housing which is carried between the valve and the piston and in fluid communication therebetween. Relative to the valve, the piston is movable into and out sealing engagement with the discharge port to permit the discharge of water under pressure contained within the pressure flush tank. The flexible tube is movable in response to movement of the piston.

Abstract:

A low profile holographic sight includes a base having a mounting mechanism and a body mounted on the base for housing a laser diode, an associated electronic control and power source, and optical elements including a collimator, a transmission image hologram of the reticle pattern, and a reflective diffraction grating, wherein the optical elements are arranged within the body to direct and fold the laser beam in a substantially generally horizontal path, and is insensitive to drift in laser wavelength. The optical elements superimpose an image of the reticle pattern over the direct view of the target scene in a generally parallel and close relationship with the barrel of a firearm, such as a shotgun or a rifle, upon which the sight is mounted.

Abstract:

An improved file system for managing data storage and retrieval in a clustered UNIX computer system including a plurality of processing nodes and an interconnection network connecting the processing nodes. The improved file system includes a data storage device, such as a disk storage unit, connected via a shared SCSI interconnect with each one of the processing nodes, rather than connected directly with a single processing node. The structure layout for the file system, which is maintained on the data storage device, includes sufficient information to enable all of the processing nodes to access said file system. The layout comprises: superblocks containing offsets to all other file system structures within the file system; a free inode bit map containing a plurality of bits, each bit representing an inode within the file system; a modified inode journal containing a separate inode bit map for each superblock and identifying particular inodes which have been modified by the file system prior to a system failure; a plurality of inodes, each inode being a data structure which contains a definition for each particular file and directory in the file system; a free block bit map containing a bit map wherein each distinct bit represents a logical disk block in the file system; and data blocks containing data representing file contents. The file system interfaces with the computer system's distributed lock manager (DLM) to coordinate file system usage.

Abstract:

A lightweight holographic sighting system is provided that is designed to minimize optical aberrations common with earlier holographic sighting systems. The system has a modular construction that is more economic and conducive to high volume production, in terms of complexity of required fixturing and availability of materials, than earlier systems. The system is lighter and more compact, while providing a larger field of view than existing systems, and can be used on small hand guns, standard size firearms, bows, telescopes, and other devices without adding significant weight or space constraints. The system utilizes an upper housing assembly containing a high efficiency holographic optical element, an anti-reflective glass viewing window, and a red diode laser light source driven by a high efficiency microcontroller circuit designed for increased battery life, and a lower housing assembly containing two dielectric folding mirrors, an on-axis collimating lens, and a high efficiency achromatizing holographic optical element.
