Robert Heckler was born in Enid, Oklahoma in 1946 and grew up in Kansas, living in Wichita, Newton, Lawrence, Topeka and rural Lecompton.  Robert graduated from South High School in 1965. He attended ...

Bragging Rights:

A wife of 35 years, three grown daughters and four grandchildren, all very successful in their own way. Robert has practiced in the mental health field at Menningers, formerly in Topeka, Catholic Social Service, in Topeka, Prairie View in Newton and Wichita, The Veterans Administration, in Wichita and Topeka, and Bert Nash Mental Health Center in Lawrence. Robert had other challenging work as a Vista Volunteer, Northview Developmental Services, Operation Vetreach, Sedgwick County Court, Wichita Area Community Action Program, United Methodist Youthville and Newman Memorial Hospital in Emporia. His first employment as a community worker was with youth in a low income neighborhood. He assisted young people in getting back into school, getting jobs, GED's or gainful employment. That began in 1970. .
