Abstract:
A media streaming system for streaming media signals is provided. The media streaming system takes a library of separate and distinct CODECs that are provided as a searchable CODEC library and used in determining specific characteristics in the media signal to identify similar sections of the signal. The media streaming system uses a computer implemented intelligence system, such as an artificial intelligence mechanism to learn and capture the unique characteristics of a sinal as the signal is being streamed. The media streaming system also compresses and decompresses the media signal as the signals are streamed from a source media to a destination device.

Abstract:
A multimedia distribution device includes a nonvolatile memory that stores a compressed media signal in which at least two scenes are selectively compressed using different codecs from a codec library, the codecs being automatically selected to produce a highest compression quality for the respective scenes according to a set of criteria without exceeding a target data rate. The nonvolatile memory also stores a plurality of codec indicators specifying which codecs from the codec library were used to respectively compress each scene within the compressed media signal.

Abstract:
An input module obtains a media signal to be communicated to a destination system, after which an identification module identifies a plurality of scenes within the media signal. A selection module automatically selects different codecs from a codec library to respectively compress at least two of the scenes. The codecs are automatically selected to produce a highest compression quality for the respective scenes according to a set of criteria without exceeding a target data rate. A compression module then compresses the scenes using the automatically selected codecs, after which an output module delivers the compressed scenes to the destination system with an indication of which codec was used to compress each scene.

Abstract:
A system for encoding a video signal includes an input module to receive a media signal to be communicated to a destination device, the media signal being divided into a plurality of segments each comprising one or more temporally adjacent frames. The system also includes an a encoding module configured, for each of the plurality of segments, to test a plurality of different CODECs on a segment by encoding the segment using a plurality of CODECs to produce a respective plurality of encoded segments, the selection module being further configured to select the encoded segment having the highest image quality while satisfying at least one additional constraint. The system further includes an output module configured, for each of the plurality of segments, to deliver the selected segment to the destination device and report to the destination device which CODEC was used to encode the selected segment.

That reassurance is needed. The Verge's Robert Ingraham has an exhaustive breakdown of Community's behind-the-scenes drama over the past year, but here's a rundown in brief: Shortly after Community was renewed for a fourth season, Sony Pictures Television fired creator and showrunner Dan Harmon. In
Hillenburg and track operation director Robert Ingraham admit now that they had started lobbying NASCAR for a return event nearly as soon as they reopened the track in the spring 2008. "I can verify that is very accurate," admits NASCAR Camping World Truck Series director Wayne Auton with a laugh. "
Last month track general manager Robert Ingraham said the addition of the SAFER barrier was safety driven but added: "If it looks like we are being proactive about attracting a larger event, that's not an accident."
The most common estimate of the SAFER barrier cost is $1 million per mile. "Yes, that's expensive," said Robert Ingraham, the track's general manager, "but nothing's more expensive than having someone hurt."
