Abstract:

A method is provided for managing environmental, health and safety (EHS) risks in a manufacturing environment. Risk assessment data received from a first risk assessment database and a second risk assessment database is stored in an EHS risk assessment database. The risk assessment data includes a plurality of first risk assessments and a plurality of second risk assessments for the manufacturing environment. The first risk assessments may be indicative of ergonomic risk assessments, machine guarding risk assessments, industrial hygiene risk assessments, incident investigation risk assessments, or lock-out tag-out risk assessments. The first risk assessments and the second risk assessments are processed to prioritize the risk assessments, and a notification is provided indicative of the prioritized risk assessments.

Abstract:

An improved adjustable track cover assembly is provided which facilitates adjustable positioning of a track cover over a work blank feed track and which maintains the position established. The track cover assembly includes a cover supporting bracket which is operatively supported by an adjusting screw in threaded engagement therewith. The adjusting screw is supported for selective adjusting rotation relative to the cover bracket. Snubbing means, including spring means and a member in threaded engagement with the adjusting screw, coact with the bracket to impede relative rotation between the bracket and adjusting screw and thereby maintain a fixed positioning of the track cover. Additional spring means, associated with the adjusting screw support, coact with the adjusting screw to maintain a fixed positioning of the adjusting screw.

Abstract:

An actuation system for pivoting a flap on a helicopter rotor blade to reduce the interaction of the blade with the preceding blade vortex. The actuation system includes a fluid supply which is connected to first and second fluid supply lines. The fluid supply lines convey flows of pressurized fluid from the fluid supply to an actuator. The actuator includes a housing mounted within the rotor blade and having a channel formed in it. A butterfly shaft is pivotally mounted within the channel and has laterally extending arms which separate the channel into four lobes. A first port connects the first fluid supply line with two diametrically opposed lobes in the channel. A second port connects the second fluid supply line with the other two diametrically opposed lobes in the channel. A torque coupling is attached to the butterfly shaft and engaged with the flap such that rotation of the torque coupling produces concomitant rotation of the flap. The pressurization of the first fluid supply line causes the torque coupling to rotate in a first direction.
