The present invention relates to a securing or button replacement device which includes a base member having an attachment side and a fastening side and a connecting member secured to the base member. The connecting member is sized to fit through a hole in a first piece of material to be joined to a second piece of material or a first part of a garment to be joined to a second part of a garment. After a free end of the connecting portion is passed through the hole, the connecting member is looped on itself so that the free end can be brought into engagement with a plurality of engagement members on the fastening side of the base member.
The present invention relates to a jumper cable system for charging batteries on vehicles such as motorcycles, lawnmowers, lawn tractors, and small boats. The jumper cable system comprises a first cable having a pair of battery clips at one end and a male plug at a second end and a second cable having a pair of battery clips at one end and a female socket at a second end. The male plug on the first cable is sized to fit within an electrical outlet such as an automobile cigarette lighter socket. The female socket on the second cable is sized to mate with the male plug and form an electrical connection therebetween. The cable jumper system of the present invention is versatile since it can be used either by inserting the male plug of the first cable into an electrical outlet and connecting the battery clips to the terminals on the battery to be charged or by mating the first and second cables and connecting the battery clips on the cables to respective batteries.

Abstract:
An electromechanical door holder-closer includes a conventional door closer which has a shaft rotatable in response to movement of a door between its open and closed positions and resilient means for yieldably resisting rotation of the shaft in one direction. A latching mechanism cooperates in a latching position with a uni-directional clutch mounted on the shaft to permit free movement of the door from its closed position toward its open position and to releasably retain the door in a selected hold-open position therebetween when the latching mechanism is held in cooperative engagement with the clutch. The latching mechanism is releasably retained in its latching position by a normally energized electrically operated holding mechanism. Means may be provided for adjusting the device from one hold-open position to another hold-open position of lesser opening by manually moving the door toward its closed position and to its new hold-open position while the latching mechanism is held in latched position by the holding mechanism. Means is also provided for overriding the latching and holding mechanism to release the door from its hold-open position in response to manual force applied thereto in the closing direction.
