Devices configured to permit the application of color to hair from a solid or semi-solid hair coloring composition and methods relating to use of such devices are disclosed. The device includes a support, and a solid or semi-solid hair coloring composition fixedly disposed on the support. The solid or semi-solid hair coloring composition includes a soap gelling agent such that the hair coloring composition retains its shape, and can be provided as a block having a predefined shape.
