Abstract:

A pressure regulator assembly for a fluid system includes a housing having at least one cavity therein and a valve seat disposed in the at least one cavity and having an aperture extending therethrough. The pressure regulator assembly also includes a movable valve member disposed in the at least one cavity of the housing. The valve member has a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fluid from flowing into the at least one cavity and an open position to disengage the valve seat to allow fluid to flow into the at least one cavity. The pressure regulator assembly further includes a biasing mechanism disposed in the at least one cavity to bias the valve member toward the valve seat to close the aperture. The valve seat and the valve member and the biasing mechanism are aligned linearly along an axis of the valve housing.

Abstract:

An air conditioning and heating system is disclosed having a manually operated air temperature door that is movable in both an air conditioning mode and a heating mode to regulate the amount of air passing through a heat exchanger to thereby control the temperature of the air delivered by the system. Adapted thereto is an air temperature control arrangement comprising an air baffle that is movable with and adjustable relative to the air temperature control door so as to adjust the amount of air passing through the heat exchanger in the various regulating air temperature door positions. A dual cam track operated air baffle control adjusts the air baffle relative to the air temperature door with movement of the latter and selectively according to one of two predetermined and different cam tracks having linearity patterns determined by the respective air conditioning mode and heating mode heat transfer requirements so as to provide substantial linearity between the temperature of the air delivered by the system and the air temperature control door position in both the air conditioning and heating modes.

Abstract:

In accordance with the present invention, cookies are counted and grouped and are guided and ride along support rails of a drop gate. The support rails are moved to one side during a dwell in the travel of a transfer conveyor, in a manner such that a group of cookies from one row and another group of cookies from another row drop through drop chutes of a drop chute assembly into an accumulator at the lower portion of the drop chute assembly, in longitudinal alignment along the centerline of the machine. There are actually two such drop chute assemblies, and the remaining group of cookies from each of the two rows drop in the same manner into the accumulator at the lower portion of the second drop chute assembly. After the groups of cookies have dropped into the accumulators of the drop chute assemblies, the accumulators operate respectively to longitudinally advance the one group of cookies into substantially abutting longitudinal relationship with the other group of cookies. Accordingly, at this time, there is effectively one group of cookies in each of the respective accumulators, consisting of a combined group of cookies which may be, for example, a combined group of chocolate and vanilla flavor or colored cookies.

Abstract:

A tube nut wrench having a slotted end for application of a socket member of the wrench laterally to a side of a tube so as to receive the latter into the socket and to allow the socket to be moved axially to receive the tube nut for setting the latter. A reversible air motor is used to rotate the socket member in a reverse direction to register a slot in the socket member with a slot in the end of the wrench to admit the tube at the start of an operation, or to allow withdrawal of the wrench from the tube at the end of an operation, the motor being operable in a forward direction to set the nut. An adapter is provided for engagement with the regular socket member to provide a larger socket for reception of a larger than usual size nut.

Abstract:

A loader (10) for a gear burnishing machine includes a gear carrier (144) and a guide embodied by a rack (122) for cooperating to move a gear to be burnished into meshing relationship with a gear rack of the burnishing machine. A hopper (22) including a feed mechanism provides feeding of the gears to the carrier. Carrier movement moves the gears from the hopper to the machine as the guide rack aligns the gear teeth for meshing with the gear rack teeth. A retaining shaft of the carrier captures the gears between spaced retainers of the carrier as the gears move to the machine for burnishing. A retaining member (66) and a movable dog (84) of the feed mechanism cooperate in feeding gears to the carrier. After burnishing, an actuator including a pusher (204) moves the burnished gear off the guide to a delivery unit 14 including an inclined ramp (198).

Abstract:

A forming machine (10) disclosed has an improved drive mechanism (28) for driving a pair of slides (20,22) mounted on upper and lower bases (12, 14) so as to provide forming of a workpiece for forming racks (24, 26) mounted on the slides. Upper and lower hydraulic motors (30,32) respectively drive the pair of slides whose movement is coordinated by a rotatable synchronizing gear (48) and upper and lower synchronizing racks (50,52). The synchronizing gear (48) is mounted by a connecting portion of the machine between the slides and is meshed with the synchronizing racks (50, 52) which are mounted on the slides by wedge adjusters (53) to adjust backlash of the synchronizing racks with the synchronizing gear. Both rotary and linear hydraulic motors for drivng the slides are disclosed. A pair of tie rod connections (150) preferably extend between the upper and lower bases to control deflection therebetween during the workpiece forming.

Abstract:

An automatic tray loading apparatus for cookies or the like in which cook are divided into two rows with cookies in each row separated into groups of a given count and continuously conveyed to a loading station for loading into trays. A pair of drop chute members are aligned with the rows of cookies and each arranged to receive a discrete cookie group dropped therein by a drop gate device. The cookie group dropped into one of the drop chutes is moved laterally into close proximity to a second cookie group resting in the second drop chute to bring the cookie spacing into register with the spacing of cookie receiving compartments in the trays. Drop gate slides for each drop chute are then activated to open chute outlet openings to drop each cookie group into an appropriate compartment of a waiting cookie tray. A tray conveyor then carries away the cookie-filled tray and spots an empty tray below the drop chute outlet openings.
