Abstract:

A check valve for a fuel pump of a vehicle includes a valve housing adapted to be disposed in an outlet member of the fuel pump and a valve seat formed on the valve housing. The check valve also includes a valve member disposed in the valve housing and having a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fuel from flowing through the outlet member and an open position to allow fuel to flow through the outlet member. The valve member has at least one outlet port a predetermined dwell distance from the valve seat when the valve member is in the closed position and allows fluid flow past the valve seat when the valve member is in the open position.

Abstract:

A tilt chair having a foot adapted to be supported by a support surface and a first leg pivotally mounted to the foot. A second leg is pivotally mounted to the first leg. A moveable support member is mounted to the second leg and is adapted to be supported by the support surface. The moveably support member is moveable in a first and second direction toward and away from the foot respectively as the first leg pivots relative to the second leg and as the first leg pivots relative to the foot. In one embodiment, the moveable support member is configured as a wheel. In one embodiment, a lower back member has a lower end pivotally mounted to the first leg and an upper back member pivotally mounted to an upper end of the lower back member. A restraining link is pivotally mounted between the lower back member and the second leg. An upper back link has a lower end pivotally mounted to the first leg and an upper end pivotally mounted to the upper back member.

Abstract:

A check valve for a fuel pump of a vehicle includes a retainer adapted to be disposed in an outlet member of the fuel pump. The check valve also includes a valve seat adapted to be disposed in the outlet member and spaced from the retainer. The check valve includes a valve member disposed in the outlet member between the retainer and the valve seat. The valve member has a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fuel from flowing through the outlet member and an open position to allow fuel to flow through the outlet member. The check valve further includes a magnet cooperating with the valve member for generating a magnetic force on the valve member to maintain a contact force between the valve member and the valve seat when the valve member is in the closed position.

Abstract:

A pressure regulator assembly for a fluid system includes a housing having at least one cavity therein and a valve seat disposed in the at least one cavity and having an aperture extending therethrough. The pressure regulator assembly also includes a movable valve member disposed in the at least one cavity of the housing. The valve member has a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fluid from flowing into the at least one cavity and an open position to disengage the valve seat to allow fluid to flow into the at least one cavity. The pressure regulator assembly further includes a biasing mechanism disposed in the at least one cavity to bias the valve member toward the valve seat to close the aperture. The valve seat and the valve member and the biasing mechanism are aligned linearly along an axis of the valve housing.

Abstract:

A wheel jack comprises a frame, a pair of dowels rotatable with respect to the frame, threaded connectors, each threaded connector mounted on a corresponding dowel, a pair of lever arms movable between a retracted position and an extended position, and a pair of axles, each axle mounted on a corresponding lever arm, wherein the axles are adapted to support a wheel. Rotation of the dowels urges the corresponding threaded connector to move along the dowel, and each threaded connector is pivotably connected to a corresponding lever arm. In operation, the wheel jack is placed under a tire, the axles are raised to engage the wheel so as to lift the wheel off its corresponding wheel mount, and then the wheel is removed from a motor vehicle.

Abstract:

An air conditioning and heating system is disclosed having a manually operated air temperature door that is movable in both an air conditioning mode and a heating mode to regulate the amount of air passing through a heat exchanger to thereby control the temperature of the air delivered by the system. Adapted thereto is an air temperature control arrangement comprising an air baffle that is movable with and adjustable relative to the air temperature control door so as to adjust the amount of air passing through the heat exchanger in the various regulating air temperature door positions. A dual cam track operated air baffle control adjusts the air baffle relative to the air temperature door with movement of the latter and selectively according to one of two predetermined and different cam tracks having linearity patterns determined by the respective air conditioning mode and heating mode heat transfer requirements so as to provide substantial linearity between the temperature of the air delivered by the system and the air temperature control door position in both the air conditioning and heating modes.

Abstract:

A tube nut wrench having a slotted end for application of a socket member of the wrench laterally to a side of a tube so as to receive the latter into the socket and to allow the socket to be moved axially to receive the tube nut for setting the latter. A reversible air motor is used to rotate the socket member in a reverse direction to register a slot in the socket member with a slot in the end of the wrench to admit the tube at the start of an operation, or to allow withdrawal of the wrench from the tube at the end of an operation, the motor being operable in a forward direction to set the nut. An adapter is provided for engagement with the regular socket member to provide a larger socket for reception of a larger than usual size nut.

Abstract:

A cable-drum window regulator for controlling the motion of a windowpane, such as a window in a door, has an improved glider assembly. The glider assembly is attached to the windowpane, and comprises a glider slidably secured by snap fit to an elongate guide rail, and a glider plate which snap fits to the glider. The glider assembly travels along the guide rail from a full-up to a full-down position. The glider preferably has a cushioning unitary downstop to absorb the loading of the glider assembly at the full-down position. The glider has at least a pair of rail tabs which snap fit to longitudinally extending receiving flanges of the rail; preferably at least one of the rail tabs has a beveled surface for ease in assembly. The glider has at least one flexible finger with a digit which snaps into a corresponding receiving opening in the glider plate. In those embodiments with more than one flexible finger, one finger is preferably longer than the other.
