Abstract:

A proximity sensor assembly is molded with a connector support that extends from an outer side of a sensor housing and supports an electrical connector such that an axis of the electrical connector intersects at a fixed angle less than approximately 90 degrees a line tangential to the outer side from which the molded connector support extends. The orientation of the connector support helps facilitate mounting of the proximity sensor assembly to an actuator housing such that the axis of the electrical connector intersects a center line of the actuator housing at a fixed angle less than approximately 90 degrees and greater than approximately zero degrees. In this manner, two proximity sensor assemblies may be mounted relatively closer to one another at opposite ends of the actuator housing while shielding conductor cables mounted to the proximity sensor assemblies in a corridor or region between the proximity sensor assemblies.

Abstract:

A proximity switch assembly is provided which has a base with a longitudinal axis. A sensing coil is mounted on the distal end of a probe on a front axial end of the base, and the base is adapted to be mounted to a machine which has a moving part, the position of which relative to the sensing coil is to be determined by the proximity switch. An electrical cable connector is rotatably mounted on the base and may be rotated into a plurality of positions around the axis. Conductors extend between the sensing coil and the electrical cable connector, and at least part are deformed spirally to permit rotation of the cable connector. A series of teeth are on the base and a locking spring moves into engagement with any of the teeth to establish the plurality of locked rotational positions.

Abstract:

Electromagnetically operated contactor or relay in which the stationary magnetic core and operating coil are mounted in a base section and the movable armature and the switching elements are mounted in a main frame section. With the two sections assembled together the pole face structures of the stationary core abut reference surfaces in the main frame section. When the operating coil is energized, the armature moves into contact with the pole faces of the stationary core. Thus, since the reference surfaces in the main frame section determine the position of the stationary core pole faces and hence the position of the armature when the core is energized, the positions of all movable elements are determined solely by dimensions of the main frame section independently of the base section.
