Abstract:

A signal receiver having a source of video signals includes an aperture correction system wherein an electron device coupled to the video signal source provides first and second oppositely-phased output signals which are applied to a circuit means to be differentiated and delayed respectively and applied to a summing terminal with desired preshoot and overshoot characteristics. Moreover, these characteristics are selectable by an adjustable impedance coupled to the circuit means providing the differentiated and delayed signals.

Abstract:

An improved radon detector has an enclosed housing with a removeable cap to provide a chamber within which a detector member is mounted for detecting the impact of alpha particle emissions from radon gas entering the chamber through apertures formed in the cap. The detector member has at least one planar surface for detecting the emissions and is supported within the chamber to orient the planar detection surface in a generally vertical plane parallel to the central axis of the upstanding enclosed wall which positions the detection surface in parallel opposition to preferably the major portion of the enclosing wall on which radioactive decay products from radon are deposited.

Abstract:

A package for shielded handling of a detector element and for selective exposure of said detector element to radiation, typically in radon detection of emitted alpha particle radiation, is provided in a unitary assembly. The package provides a support structure for securement of a detector member within the package and includes a shielding structure for selective insulation of the detector member in a shielding position of the support structure to prevent background irradiation of the detector member during handling and transport to and from the irradiation monitoring location. The package provides selective exposure of the detector element to irradiation in an exposing position of the support structure at the monitoring location. The package is provided with transport structure for relatively moving the support structure with the detector member so that the detector member can be selectively displaced between shielding and exposing positions. The package thus accommodates both convenient transport and monitoring exposure of the detector member without requiring the monitoring user to employ additional equipment.
