Abstract:

A user interface method and system is described for presenting digital media to a user in familiar environments, and allowing user manipulation of the media and environments. The digital media includes collections of photographs, which are arranged and presented to the user as photo albums. Each of the photo albums has properties determined by the user, including how a selected photo album will be displayed. Examples include display as photographs in an open photo album, as a collection of framed pictures hanging on a gallery wall, as a storybook with each picture having associated text, and as a filmstrip. Each of the photo albums can also be displayed as a slide show. The user interface also includes menus from which various operations can be selected by the user. User selection of photo albums, individual pictures, and menu options, as well as the entry of text, can be accomplished solely by use of cursor control and selection keys, making the interface particularly well suited to users of set-top box equipped televisions.

Abstract:

The present invention provides an improved system and method for training distribution management between a system server and an agent associated with a computer-based system agent. The method includes determining training appropriate for the agent, storing training material associated with the training at the system server and polling the system agent to determine whether the system agent is in communication with the system server. If the system agent is in communication with the system server, a determination is made whether a training opportunity is present. If a training opportunity is present, the agent is notified that training is available. A determination is made whether the agent is willing to accept training. If the agent is willing to accept training, the training material is provided to the agent via the system agent. The invention facilitates improved training necessary to develop and coach agents to provide superior customer service.

Abstract:

An exemplary method provides ringback information to a calling party device. A call establishment request is received in an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network from the calling party device by a session initiation protocol, SIP, application server, SIP-AS. Ringback information associated with the called party, which may require condition evaluation such as time-of-day, day-of-week or may be unconditionally determined, is identified in response to the call establishment request. A push transmission technique is used by the SIP-AS to transmit the ringback information via one or more bearer packets sent from the SIP-AS to the calling party device.

A system for providing wireless services to a first user on the system includes a first application server coupled to a home location register and configured to provide wireless services to the first user. The home location register is configured to store information regarding the first user. A second application server is configured to provide wireline services to the first user and coupled to a media resource function. The media resource function is configured to produce tones and announcements. The second application server is further configured to interact with the first application server to provide an interface to the media resource function.
