A chest wader having advantageous features with respect to securing the wader to an individual, increased flexibility for movement without straining the seams of the wader, hand warming capabilities and pocket draining elements.
A garment which eliminates the need for additional inseam material by using a panel of stretch material such as spandex, rubber or rubber compounds, or synthetic rubber, such as neoprene or neoprene sponge in the knee area where bending takes place to allow the knee to bend freely. The panel of stretch material used at knee portion of the garment fills an opening formed in the rigid woven fabric material making up the rest of the garment. The panel of stretch material is sewn in place covered with a waterproof tape which overlaps the edges of the stretch material panel and the woven fabric material. Stitching secures the stretch material in place, which overlaps the woven fabric material. The stretch material panel includes waterproof properties as does the remainder of the woven fabric material garment.
An outer rain wear garment is provided with improved ventilation in the form of a mesh insert under a pocket flap of the garment. The flap can be secured to the garment either in a regular pocket-closing position effectively blocking the mesh or in an arched position providing a tunnel over the mesh for improved air circulation through the mesh.
A fly fishing vest having a mesh panel forming a rear portion of the vest with a removable rear panel secured to cover substantially the entire mesh panel until it is desired to provide additional ventilation to the fly fishing person. At that time, an upper edge of the rear panel is disconnected from the vest. In addition, side panel portions are unsnapped from connection to the vest. The rear panel is then rolled into an unzippered pocket from which the rear panel extends and in which one edge of the rear panel is anchored. Upon successful placement of the rear panel in the pocket extending laterally across the rear of the vest, the pocket is zippered to contain the rear panel in place until needed again. With the rear panel secured in the pocket, 100% of the mesh panel at the rear portion of the vest is exposed to provide a substantial increase in ventilation for the fly fishing person.
