Abstract:

A service node is used in the implementation of a call-transfer service in which a service call is transferred to a second agent from a first agent. A code receiver receives from a service control point, via a data link, at least one subscriber-defined call-transfer feature code that can be invoked by the first agent. A call-transferor transfers the service call to the second agent from the first agent in response to the service node receiving a signal from the first agent after the first agent invokes an elective call-transfer function using at least one subscriber-defined call-transfer feature code.

Abstract:

A communication monitor for transferring a communication to a second recipient from a first recipient includes an identifier receiver that receives at least one subscriber-defined transfer identifier that can be invoked by the first recipient to redirect the communication from the first recipient. The communication monitor also includes a communication transferor that monitors the communication and coordinates transferring the communication to the second recipient from the first recipient in response to the communication monitor monitoring a signal from the first recipient after the first recipient invokes an elective communication-transfer function using at least one subscriber-defined transfer identifier.

Abstract:

A call transfer service enables a call from a calling party to be transferred from a first agent to a second agent in response to a signal sent by the first agent. The call transfer service is implemented with a service node that offers call transfer service functionality, and a service control point providing menu routing. The service control point routes the call to the service node when it is determined that the call requires call transfer services. The service control point also forwards, via a data link, data associated with the call transfer service to the service node to facilitate transferring of the call.
