Abstract:

An aspect of the disclosed subject matter includes a method of reducing the laser absorption of a beam reverser prism consisting of at least one of the following: increasing a first distance between a first incident point and a chamfered corner, wherein the first incident point is on a first reflective surface of the prism and the chamfered corner is formed between the first reflective surface and a second reflective surface of the prism, wherein the chamfered corner has a chamfered surface; increasing a second distance between a second incident point and the chamfered corner, wherein the second incident point is on the second reflective surface of the prism; and increasing a reflectivity of the chamfered surface of the chamfered corner of the prism. A method of determining a prime cut for an optical component is also disclosed. A laser including at least one prime cut optical component is also disclosed.

Abstract:

An electronic device such as a voice-controlled speaker device may have a housing. A speaker and other input-output components and control circuitry may be mounted within the housing. A set of controlled light-emitting components may emit light that passes through an upper housing wall or other housing structure. Light from the light-emitting components may be spread laterally by multiple light diffusing layers such as a lens diffuser layer having lenses overlapping respective light-emitting components, a textured diffuser layer formed from textured coatings on a substrate, and a volume diffuser layer having light-scattering structures in a polymer layer. The lens layer may be formed from a transparent member with integral lenses having curved inner surfaces and opposing curved outer surfaces and central depressions. A light-guiding portion of the transparent member may guide light to a circular peripheral edge to form an illuminated ring visible through the upper housing wall.

A method and system of characterizing a job market is provided. The available job postings of a job market are determined. For each job posting, one or more technical skills, a job role level, and one or more professional capabilities related to the job posting are determined. The professional capabilities are aggregated by job dimensions. The determined technical skills and the professional capabilities of each job posting and the aggregated professional capabilities are stored in a database as reference data. A job capability profile for one or more job dimensions is provided based on the stored reference data in the database.
