Chairman and CEO Samuel Allen said thecompanys results reflected the continuing impact of the global farmrecession as well as difficult conditions in construction equipmentmarkets.
"Although Deere expects another challenging year in 2016, our forecast represents a level of performance much better than we have experienced in previous downturns," Samuel Allen, the company's chairman and chief executive officer, said in the statement.
"Sales and earnings for the year were the sixth-highest in company history," said CEO Samuel Allen. "Although our forecast calls for lower results in the year ahead, the outlook represents a level of performance that is better than Deere has experienced in previous downturns."

Deere Ups Guidance as Construction Offsets Ag Swoon
"John Deere expects to be solidly profitable in 2015, with the year ranking among our stronger ones in sales and earnings despite the pullback in the farm sector," said Chairman and CEO Samuel Allen in a printed statement.
"Deere's first-quarter performance reflected sluggish conditions in the global farm sector, which reduced demand for agricultural machinery, particularly larger models, and led to lower sales and income," said CEO Samuel Allen.
