  • Assignee:
Fluid Management, Inc. - Wheeling IL
  • International Classification:
    B67D 520
  • US Classification:
    222132
  • Abstract:
A machine for dispensing a plurality of ingredients includes stepped arrays of canisters providing a source of materials. The bottom ends of the canisters are generally coplanar, and are positioned immediately above a low profile drive train mounted on a tray. A drive train includes two spaced arrays of pumps with a motor providing a common drive for the pumps, mounted between the arrays. A valve tray is located above the canisters and includes a low profile dispense head, an array of tubing members arranged side-by-side in a common, generally horizontal plane, and an array of dispense valves attached at the back of the valve tray. The dispense valves are coupled to the pumps by pairs of fluid lines, so as to circulate materials between the pumps and dispense valves.
  • Sewing Machine Lubrication System

    view source
  • US Patent:
    45879125, May 13, 1986
  • Filed:
    Mar 21, 1985
  • Appl. No.:
    6/714319
  • Inventors:
James W. Wolff - Chicago IL
Sandra J. Liakus - Lisle IL
  • Assignee:
Union Special Corporation - Chicago IL
  • International Classification:
    D05B 7100
  • US Classification:
    112256
  • Abstract:
A apparatus is provided for creating and maintaining lubricant pressure and flow to various operative mechanisms disposed within the frame of the sewing machine independent of the sewing machine operation. To aid in the lubrication process, a lubricant heater is provided. The lubricant heater operates independent of the sewing machine operation and serves to warm or heat the lubricant to a preset temperature before it is communicated to the bearing surfaces of the operative mechanisms. The invention may further include a device disposed between the lubricant pump and heater for filtering the lubricant before it is delivered to the operative mechanisms of the machine.
  • Gear Pump Having Members With Different Hardnesses

  • US Patent:
    57855102, Jul 28, 1998
  • Filed:
    Jan 7, 1997
  • Appl. No.:
    8/779481
  • Inventors:
    Anthony Altieri - Wheeling IL
John Lewis Fortin - Gurnee IL
Richard David Bothmann - Palatine IL
Sandra Jean Liakus - Fort Wayne IN
    Philip DiGangi - Schaumburg IL

  • Assignee:
Fluid Management Limited Partnership - Wheeling IL
  • International Classification:
    F04C 210
  • US Classification:
    418104
  • Abstract:
An improved gear pump having members with different hardnesses includes a housing defining an internal bore with inlet and outlet passageways. A head member includes a wall between the inlet and outlet passageways and extends toward a toothed rotor. A toothed idler gear meshes with the rotor. The head member and idler gear are made of materials having a hardness greater than that of the rotor material. In one embodiment the idler gear is made of ceramic material whereas the head member and rotor are made of cast iron, with the head member treated to have a hardness greater than that of the rotor.
