The St. Clair Wright Award University of Maryland's Historic Preservation Program The St. Clair Wright Award is given to a HISP student who demonstrates the principles of preservation activism exemplified by the late Mrs. Wright, the founder and former leader of Historic Annapolis. The 2010-2011 award was for the local preservation efforts by the students in HISP 635 (Spring 2010) for our report "Lakeland East of the Railroad Tracks, 1890-1970," which has had a major impact in furthering historic preservation activities in Lakeland, College Park, MD. Mildred Colodny Diversity Scholarship for Graduate Study in Historic Preservation Semi-Finalist 2010 The National Trust for Historic Preservation The Mildred Colodny Diversity Scholarship program provides financial assistance and experiential learning opportunities to individuals preparing for careers in historic preservation. The purpose of the Colodny Scholarship is to increase the diversity of people pursuing degrees and careers in historic preservation in the United States. The National Trust is seeking culturally diverse applicants whose commitment to historic preservation will be strengthened by obtaining a graduate degree in preservation, who will benefit from the internship and mentorship opportunities provided by the Trust, and who ultimately will contribute valuable, diverse perspectives to -- and become leaders in -- the field of preservation. Minnesota Preservation Award: Emerging Leader 2009 Preservation Alliance of Minnesota The Minnesota Preservation Awards is the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota’s annual program that recognizes individuals, groups and projects throughout the state that demonstrate a commitment to preserving Minnesota’s history. Each year, 15 awards are selected from nominations submitted from around the state. This year, a total of 43 Award nominations were received, representing everything from small, community-led projects to large-scale, high-profile rehabilitation efforts.
