Abstract:

There is provided a method for optimizing a data backup. The method comprising determining a backup project size, the backup project size identifying the quantity of data to be backed up; detecting available recording devices for transferring the data backup to storage media; receiving an input corresponding to at least one user specified optimization variable, wherein the at least one user specified optimization variable comprises an upper limit on the length of each of the calculated plurality of data streams; utilizing the at least one user specified optimization variable to calculate a plurality of data streams for performing the data backup; and assigning subsets of the plurality of data streams to the available recording devices to optimize the data backup.

Abstract:

Various embodiments of the invention disclosed herein provide techniques for frame-accurate navigation of a media file. A multi-pass encoding application executing on a media content server encodes a set of file-based images associated with a media file using a first set of encoding parameters to generate a first encoded media file. The multi-pass encoding application encodes the first encoded media file using a second set of encoding parameters to generate a second encoded media file. The first encoded media file and second encoded media file are stored on the media content server and/or or other media content servers. Content delivery applications executing on these media content servers receive a request associated with the media file from a web browsing application, determine a type of the web browsing application, and transmit either the first encoded media file or the second encoded media file based on the type of web browsing application.

Abstract:

Techniques are provided for receiving a request to generate a video of a specified resolution based on a plurality of images, and generating, via a file engine, a plurality of transfer units comprising the plurality of images, wherein each of the plurality of transfer units has a size based on the specified resolution and at least one of: (i) a count of the plurality of images or (ii) a size of the plurality of images. The file engine then assigns the plurality of transfer units for parallel processing by a plurality of image processing applications.

The automated production system includes a collection of different modules which correspond to different stages in a production pipeline. Each module generates and stores portions of the digital data and also generates and stores associations between portions of that data. Various modules then perform data analytics across multiple associated portions of digital data to determine sources of production inefficiency. Thus, the automated production system allows a production studio to more efficiently generate a feature by mitigating or eliminating specific technological inefficiencies that arise during production of the feature.

Systems, methods, and computer program products to perform an operation comprising receiving a request to generate a video of a specified resolution based on a plurality of media files, the plurality of media files comprising image files corresponding to a respective frame of a plurality of frames of the generated video, determining a size of a transfer unit based at least in part on the specified resolution and a count of the plurality of media files, generating a plurality of transfer units of the determined size, wherein the plurality of transfer units comprise a respective subset of the plurality of media files, and assigning the plurality of transfer units for parallel processing by a plurality of image processing applications executing on a plurality of compute cores of a plurality of compute nodes in a render farm.
