Abstract:

A method for deploying an application to client computers across a computer network is operative in a server environment in which given conditions, such as network load and actual or relative time-of-day, are being monitored. The method begins by establishing at least one rule for determining which of a given set of application versions are to be served to a client computer, and by establishing at least one user profile for determining which of a given set of users have a given priority. In response to a request from a client computer to serve the application, the rule is resolved against the monitored conditions and the user profile to select an application version to serve to the client computer. The application version is then served to the client computer.

A method and apparatus in a distributed data processing system for processing class files. A first data structure is received at a server. The first data structure includes a plurality of bytecodes and optimized content. A set of elements is identified in the optimized content. The set of elements is stored. Responsive to a request from a client, a second data structure is created. This second data structure includes the plurality of bytecodes and an element from the set of elements.

A method, system, and program for controlling advertising output during hold periods are provided. A context for a call on hold is detected. An advertisement is selected for output during a hold space a hold period of the call according to the context. A context for a current call is identified, wherein the context comprises at least an identity of a caller and an identity of a callee to the current call. Abstract:

A system and method for interfacing with a personal telephony recorder is provided. Users can issue commands to the personal telephony recorder through a variety of means. A user using a device with video capabilities can use facial cues, such as a facial expression, that is recognized as a command and sent to the personal telephony recorder. Video-based users can also send commands using a Doppler shift created by moving away from or towards the video recorder or a portion of the recorder. Personal telephony recorder users that use a pervasive computing device, such as a handheld computer or personal digital assistant, can issue commands by using a thumb switch usually located on the side of the device, or by using a stylus to select portions of the devices screen, such as command buttons.

Abstract:

A method, system, and program for managing a caller profile for multiple callers across multiple call hold centers are provided. Multiple call centers preferably subscribe to a remote caller profile server that manages caller profiles that are distributable to the multiple call centers. Each of the multiple call centers utilizes caller profiles to specify services to the callers related to the caller profiles when those callers are placed on hold within the caller centers. In addition, each of the call centers monitors the activity of callers while on hold and transfers the monitored activity information to the remote caller profile server to update the caller profiles.
