Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for solving a non-linear S-shaped function F=ƒ(S) which is representative of a property S in a physical system, such saturation in a reservoir simulation. A Newton iteration (T) is performed on the function ƒ(S) at Sto determine a next iterative value S. It is then determined whether Sis located on the opposite side of the inflection point Sfrom S. If Sis located on the opposite side of the inflection point from S, then Sis set to S, a modified new estimate. The modified new estimate, S, is preferably set to either the inflection point, S, or to an average value between Sand S, i. e. , S=0. 5(S+S). The above steps are repeated until Sis within the predetermined convergence criteria. Also, solution algorithms are described for two-phase and three-phase flow with gravity and capillary pressure.

Abstract:
A three-dimensional hybrid reservoir model representative of a fractured subterranean reservoir is created for simulating fluid flow. The model includes porous matrix blocks and a network of long fractures, which include two-dimensional fracture blocks, that ideally overly and are fluidly connected to the matrix blocks. To simulate fluid flow, matrix and fracture flow equations are obtained and effective fluid flow transmissibilities are determined. The matrix and fracture flow equations are then coupled via the effective fluid flow transmissibilities, such that they can be solved simultaneously for flow responses. The long fractures can be in direct fluid communication with one or more intersecting wells or other fractures. These intersections can be modeled as a point source to enhance numerical stability during simulation. The fracture characteristics, such as orientation, fracture aperture, fracture length, and fracture height, are more realistically modeled using this approach compared to previously known reservoir models.
A signal driving device includes a constant current circuit configured to provide a constant current, a first mirror circuit configured to generate a mirror current from the constant current and provide a voltage according to the mirror current of the constant current, a circuit comprising a switch device and configured to provide a driver current, a second mirror circuit configured to generate a mirror current of the driver current and output a voltage that includes a voltage drop caused when the mirror current of the driver current flows through a replica switch device, and a differential amplifier configured to receive the voltage from the first mirror circuit and the voltage from the second mirror circuit to provide a biased voltage for the bias circuit and thereby induce the driver current.

Abstract:
An apparatus includes first and second receiver circuits and a decision circuit. The first receiver circuit is configured to generate a first data symbol from a particular input data symbol of a plurality of input data symbols included in an input signal. The second receiver circuit is configured to generate a second data symbol from the particular input data symbol. The decision circuit is configured to select, using respective values of one or more previous output data symbols, either the first or second data symbol as a current output data symbol. In response to a change in value between successive input data symbols, the first and second receiver circuits are configured to generate the first and second data symbols with respective data valid windows with different durations.
Method And Apparatus For Facilitating A Trim Process Using Auxiliary Tables
A method for processing a trim command via an input and output (“I/O”) command of a solid-state drive (“SSD”) using various tables is disclosed. The process is able to retrieve a trim node state table (“TNST”) from a local memory in response to the trim command. Upon identifying current node status of the TNST associated with a logical block address (“LBA”) referenced by the trim command, a trim operation is processed to a node if the current node status indicates a pending state. After changing the node status to a dirty state when the current node status is in a clean state, the content of a trim invalid bitmap table (“TIBT”) is updated to indicate the status of LBAs when the current node status is in a dirty state.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for receiving reduced voltage swing signals is disclosed. A first amplifier may generate a first intermediate signal based on a difference between voltage levels of a first and second input signals, and a second amplifier may generate a second intermediate signal based on a difference in the voltage levels between the second and first input signals. A regenerative amplifier may increase a difference in the voltage level of the first and second intermediate signals using regenerative feedback and the voltage levels of the first and second input signals. A latch circuit may generate first and second output signals using the first and second intermediate signals.
Disclosed is a system and method for the combustion of biomass material employing a swirling fluidized bed combustion (SFBC) chamber, and preferably a second stage combustion carried out in a cyclone separator. In the combustion chamber, primary air is introduced from a bottom air box that fluidizes the bed material and fuel, and staged secondary air is introduced in the tangential direction and at varied vertical positions in the combustion chamber so as to cause the materials in the combustion chamber (i.e., the mixture of air and particles) to swirl. The secondary air injection can have a significant effect on the air-fuel particle flow in the combustion chamber, and more particularly strengthens the swirling flow, promotes axial recirculation, increases particle mass fluxes in the combustion chamber, and retains more fuel particles in the combustion chamber. This process increases the residence time of the particle flow. The turbulent flow of the fuel particles and air is well mixed and mostly burned in the combustion chamber, with any unburned waste and particles being directed to the cyclone separator, where such unburned waste and particles are burned completely, and flying ash is divided and collected in a container connected to the cyclone separator, while dioxin production is significantly minimized if not altogether eliminated. The system exhaust is directed to a pollutant control unit and heat exchanger, where the captured heat may be put to useful work.

Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses, and methods for generating a reference voltage are described. In various embodiments, an interface between a memory and a processor uses a reference voltage generator to generate a reference voltage for a single pin or a small group of pins. The generator generates a default reference voltage from a first tap in a resistor ladder, injects current with a current controller into a second tap of the resistor ladder when the generator receives an indication to generate a larger reference voltage, and draws current from a third tap of the resistor ladder when the generator receives an indication to generate a smaller reference voltage. The generator also generates a high threshold voltage independent of a low threshold voltage after calibration.
