Abstract:

A sealed air support structure including at least one sealed air chamber. The at least one sealed air chamber includes at least a first side support and a second side support, each having a support end and a base end. The at least one sealed air chamber includes a main beam with a first end coupled with the support end of the first side support and a second end coupled with the support end of the second side support. A first plurality of connectors coupled with the base end of the first side support and a second plurality of connectors coupled with the base end of the second side support are configured to detachably couple with a plurality of connectors disposed on a cold-air inflatable structure. Abstract:

The present invention is directed toward an integrated security checkpoint that can screen both individual passengers and carry-on carts containing their baggage. The methods, apparatuses, and systems of the present invention enable the efficient scanning of both individual passengers and their respective carry-on carts in the same secure area by providing individual passengers with a novel screening cart, permitting passengers to send the screening cart through an X-ray imaging machine, and permitting passengers to walk through an adjacent metal detector where, once cleared, the individual passenger can retrieve his or her screening cart.

Abstract:

A hand-held, manually operated book index notch cutter is placed in the book to be notched. The notch cutter has a cylindrical cutting member (405) which moves parallel to and rotates around its axis. The axis of the cylinder is perpendicular to the book leaves being notched. The cutting member rotates and advances within a cutter guide (200), which is attached to a thin baseplate (100). The upper surface of the baseplate is a resilient platen (102) on which rests the stack of book leaves to be cut. These leaves are adjusted in fan and lateral angle with the help of a leaf guide (300), which is movable to allow a range of notch depths. The cutting member is attached to a knob (401) which is pressed and turned. Inside this cutting member-knob assembly is a spring-loaded ejector assembly (500). After a notch is cut, the ejector button (501) is pressed, capturing the paper cuttings and raising the cutting member to the ready position.

Abstract:

A workpiece to be cleaned or otherwise operated upon, for example a musical cymbal, is supported by a holder having the form of a belt. The belt's lower edge rests on a work surface. Its upper edge supports the workpiece rim, holding the workpiece off the work surface. In use, the belt is constrained to lie in a closed curve by means which removably fasten its outer end to an intermediate place along its length. The belt's perimeter length is adjustable to accomodate workpieces of widely varying sizes. To prevent unwanted movement of the workpiece with respect to the belt, or of the belt with respect to the work surface, the belt is given friction means, which can be bands or strips of rubber, either running lengthwise along the belt or wrapped around it.
