Abstract:

A building panel for surfacing exterior and interior wall and roof structures comprises an outer shell formed of relatively thin, molded hardboard material having upper and lower edges, opposite ends, a molded outer surface adapted for exposure to the weather and a back surface. The shell is formed with a cross-sectional profile extending transversely between the upper and lower edges comprising a lower edge portion extending upwardly and outwardly of the lower edge of the panel and a back plane of the panel joining an intermediate portion which is spaced outwardly of the back plane. A row of fastener receiving depressions is formed along an upper edge of the intermediate portion and these depressions have a base spaced inwardly of the surrounding surface with a back face of said depression bases lying substantially on said back plane. The profile further includes an upper edge portion above the row of fastener receiving depressions which terminates along the upper edge of the panel. The molded shell profile has an overall dimension between an outer face of the intermediate portion and said back plane that is substantially greater than the nominal wall thickness of the shell material between the outer and back surfaces thereof.

A system comprising an electronic pricing system configured to receive information corresponding to a designed product and determine an initial price(s) as well as initial values of other business variables associated with the price. The system allows a user to enter a change to a price or the other business variable to instantly discover how the change affects other variables and optionally how the change affects one or more allowable ranges of acceptable values of other variables. Abstract:

Systems, methods, and software for filtering components, such as hardware components, compatible with computer-modeled structures are presented. A compatible components system provides selection methods that present components compatible with computer-aided design (CAD) models designed in computer modeling software. The system executes methods designed to filter components made available to designers using attribute information of the features and attribute information of the components. Designers may interact with the compatibility methods numerous times, narrowing components through a series or number of filtering steps until a desired compatible component is easily selected. The computer modeling software may include graphical user interfaces for selecting component source locations, filtering types of components presented by the system, and adding components to CAD models.

Abstract:

A man-made, molded article is provided. The article includes a profile including a planar wall, and an adjacent integral molded depression having a contoured wall extending downwardly from the planar wall. The contoured wall includes a bead portion, a cove portion, and a ledge between the bead and cove portions. The articles are stackable, one above another for transport, in a nestable relationship in which multiple contact zones are present between the contoured walls of an adjacently stacked pair of the molded articles. The contact zones include an arcuately extending contact interface zone between the bead exterior and interior surfaces. The depression has a substantially uniform thickness varying by no more than about +1 percent to about −11 percent in relation to a thickness of the planar wall. Related methods and assemblies are also provided.
