Abstract:

An on-board vehicle diagnostic device in communication with a vehicle is provided. The device includes a housing formed from a suitable material. The housing includes a plurality of connector pins. The pins are formed to interconnect with an OBD port, such as any OBD-II port found in a vehicle. The pins are additionally formed such that they engage the OBD-II port and remain connected to the port. The OBD-II port is located in the vehicle, and is in communication with an on-board vehicle processor. Also provided within the housing are a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver. The wireless receiver may be configured to receive, from the on-board vehicle processor, vehicle diagnostic pin-readouts. The pin-readouts may include location information, such as GPS coordinates. The wireless receiver may be further configured to receive geofence coordinate information, which may correspond to a geographical area.
