A computer-implemented method of defining a set of annotation elements to map a concept to electronic data as input data; generating a mapping rule, according to the set of annotation elements defined and a sample of the input data; mapping the concept to the input data by applying the mapping rule to the input data; and generating a semantic instance of the input data based upon the mapping of the concept to the input data. The set of annotation elements to map the concept to the input data are a selected ontology corresponding to the input data, a selected ontology concept from the selected ontology, a mapping of a word or word phrase in the sample input data to the selected ontology concept from the selected ontology, and a pattern of the mapped word or word phrase relative to a structure of the sample input data.

Abstract:

A method for identity verification includes receiving a request for proof of identity from a service provider and receiving biometric information associated with a user of a communication device. The method also includes determining that the received biometric information matches a biometric profile that contains biometric information associated with a registered user of the communication device. The method also includes unlocking a private key associated with the registered user in response to determining that the received biometric information matches a biometric profile and sending a request for a digital certificate that is signed with the private key associated with the registered user. The method further includes receiving the digital certificate that includes a public key associated with the registered user and satisfies the request for proof of identity. The method also includes with forwarding the digital certificate to the service provider.

Abstract:

To rapidly and reliably remove foreign objects from rotating plate cylinders (10, 10'; 10a, 10a') of a printing machine, a carriage (12) is mounted on a keyboard (21) having keys associated with predetermined axial positions or zones on the plate cylinder, controls via a control unit (CU) rotation of the stepping motor to the respective axial zone which is selected by operation of one of the keys (20) of the keyboard. A solenoid then projects the wiper blade to remove a foreign object or hickey from the plate. In a multi-cylinder machine, the removal apparatus including the spindle, carriage, wiper blade and solenoid, is placed in association with each one of the cylinders, one keyboard and one control unit operating all the wiper blades in unison, thereby eliminating the need to determine on which one of the plate cylinders of, for example, a multi-color press, a foreign object has lodged. After removal of a foreign object, or a number of foreign objects, as counted by keyboard operation, the carriage is returned to a rest or cleaning position where a motor-operated brush, upon sensing the presence of the carriage, removes the objects from the blade.

Abstract:

An improved electromagnetic audible signal device has a coil and an associated magnetic core. A flexible striker arm carrying a movable magnetic contact is positioned above the core. A multiconvoluted diaphragm is located above the movable contact and the striker arm. The contact periodically impacts against this diaphragm generating an audible signal. The invention includes a spring and screw arrangement for linearly adjusting the gap between the core and striker arm. The same spring also serves to restore vibrational mechanical energy to the system which would normally be lost to the housing.

A low-inertia, fast-acting servo motor (40) coupled through a gear to a fountain roll (20) of an inker is controlled and energized by an electronic control unit (45). The control unit controls acceleration of the fountain roll (20) during the period of time when a ductor roller (21) is in contact therewith, from speed 0 to the required speed which is necessary to rotate the fountain roll (20) about a predetermined angle (. phi. s) which, for example, is between 0. degree. and 90. degree. During the second half of the ductor roller cycle (T), that is, when the ductor roller (21) is separated from the fountain roll (20) and in engagement with an ink transfer roller (22) of the inker, the angular speed of the fountain roll is braked to zero speed. The system permits remote command of the angle of rotation (. phi. s) of the fountain roll (20) during the half cycle (T/2) of the ductor roller (21) as the ductor roller oscillates at a speed depending on printing press machine speed.

Abstract:

Smoke detection apparatus including a pair of photoelectric cells which receive illumination in a predetermined ratio from a very low level light source. An improved simulating device is included for the purpose of testing the correct functioning of the alarm system connected to a sensing circuit formed by the photocells. The effects normally produced by smoke present in a chamber are simulated by selectively directing light from an auxiliary light source onto the sensing or "reflected" cell in the sensing circuit. In addition, a specially designed and constructed sensor head is provided for avoiding discrepancies in the placement of the critical elements; moreover, improved flow of any smoke present is promoted by the specific geometry of the sensor head. Also, discrepancies between the desired and actual ratio of illumination received by the respective photocells can be readily adjusted for electrically, and the light ratio between photocells can be changed by suitably adjusting the degree of illumination received by the direct cell.
