Abstract:
A semiconductor device having a capacitor integrated in a damascene structure. In one embodiment, the capacitor is formed entirely within a metallization layer of a damascene structure, having therein a semiconductor device component. Preferably, the capacitor is formed within a trench, having been etched in the dielectric material of the metal layer and the capacitor includes a first capacitor electrode formed within the recess in electrical contact with the device component of the metallization layer. An insulator may be formed over the first capacitor electrode, with a second capacitor electrode formed over the insulator. These elements are preferably conformally deposited within the trench, thereby forming a recess, a portion of which extends within the trench. A subsequently fabricated device component may then be placed in electrical contact with the second capacitor electrode.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of manufacturing an integrated circuit having a capping layer over a thick metal feature. In one embodiment, the method comprises forming first and second oxide layers over the thick metal feature, forming a composite oxide layer including an oxide spacer by etching the first and second oxide layers, and forming a capping layer over the composite oxide layer. More specifically, forming the first oxide layer involves using a high density plasma (HDP) process, forming the second oxide layer involves using a plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) process, and forming the composite oxide layer preferably involves etching with a reactive ion etch.
Cascode Common Source Transimpedance Amplifiers For Analyte Monitoring Systems
A biosensor for an analyte monitoring system. In one embodiment, the biosensor includes a cascode common source transimpedance amplifier circuit, an analog to digital converter, and an output circuit. The cascode common source transimpedance amplifier circuit is configured to receive an electrical current generated by an electrochemical reaction of an analyte on a test strip. The cascode common source transimpedance amplifier circuit is also configured to convert the electrical current to an analog voltage signal. The analog to digital converter is configured to convert the analog voltage signal to a digital voltage signal. The output circuit is configured to transmit a signal indicating a measured level of the analyte based on the digital voltage signal.

Abstract:
The present disclosure presents glucose monitoring systems and methods. One such system comprises a glucose monitoring sensor having at least a counter electrode, a reference electrode, and a working electrode; and a silicon-carbide-silicon-carbide-nanoparticles-electrospun-nanofibrous-membrane contacting the working electrode. The system further includes a glucose oxidase enzyme solution contacting the silicon-carbide-silicon-carbide-nanoparticles-electrospun-nanofibrous-membrane, wherein a conductive polymer membrane assists in binding the glucose oxidase enzyme composition with the silicon-carbide-silicon-carbide-nanoparticles-electrospun-nanofibrous-membrane. Other systems and methods are also provided.

Abstract:
Methods and devices related to the enhancement the light absorbance characteristics of an optoelectronic device are provided. A method can comprise providing a CoO-ATO sol-gel solution to coat on a silicon substrate. Carbon can be sputtered onto the silicon substrate, and the CoO-ATO sol-gel solution can be deposited on a surface of the carbon deposited silicon substrate. The deposition of the solution can be by spin coating to achieve a uniform thickness of the solution on the surface of the carbon deposited substrate.
